#jon in ghost

I think Jon would be resurrected by the time Sansa reaches North. The resurrection needs to be in quick time span after his death in order to minimise the effects of coming back to life. Time is a mess in ASOIAF. It could play out in some other way , the one you suggest where she sings to his soul which is in Ghost, if Alayne Sample Chapter precedes Jon's assassination .

My favourite idea is that Sansa (the redhead) is on the run from Ramsay (the Hunter) and is rescued by the wolf (Ghost).

I also think that Jon will stay dead for quite some time resulting in a decidedly ‘beastly’ nature that he’ll have difficulties to control once he is resurrected. His soul is sort of ‘safe’ in Ghost and his body is preserved because of the cold. And we saw a late resurrection already with Lady Stoneheart - and she didn’t have warging to get over the time.

But that might be just me who is absolutely in love with that Little Red Riding Hood subversion.

@sayruq's theory that Sansa's memory issues will come to a head after witnessing something traumatic at the Vale, leading her to forget being Sansa Stark for a time got me thinking: what if when Sansa and Jon reunite, they are very not themselves and don't even recognize each other? So Jon is feral, wolf-like and doesn't remember much about being Jon Snow at first but he does sense Sansa as familiar and safe & vise versa. What if by the time they remember themselves, they're already in love?wdyt

I think that this is very plausible. GRRM said that Sansa's false memory of the Hound kissing her is important and that there will be a more important memory failure yet to come (or yet to be revealed?) in the books.

Sansa could forget who she is and identify as Alayne Stone to compartmentalize a trauma (that should for logics sake involve her identity as Sansa Stark). She then could develop feelings for Jon.

Jon on the other hand will surely return darker and more beastly because of the time spent in Ghost. His memory might be sketchy and he might mix up Sansa with Ygritte, his red headed love.

The only thing that makes this a bit unsatisfactory story wise is that you need both of them to have a memory loss - which seems a bit much to me. I think the pseudo-incest angst would be better if they fall for each other despite thinking they are siblings.

My theory is rather that Sansa has a memory of a kiss that happened already but which she repressed. Not a real kiss though, probably no more than lips touching. I believe in @lady-in-a-song 's theory on Jon's precanon crush on Sansa and I do think that Sansa's false memory of the Unkiss is connected to that. It might not even have been a real kiss, just talk about kissing might have been enough.

I also believe that Jon will be the first to fall and will probably blame his 'bastard' and beastly nature. Part memory failures might contribute to his emotional turmoil as well - if he takes Sansa for Ygritte initially for instance.

I think Sansa will at first be oblivious about her falling in love and might only realise that after her and Jon are separated again - if the books go the same road as the show and both never acknowledge their feelings to each other.

But this is obviously just my take and I think that @sayruq 's idea of a severe memory loss in combination with Jon's difficulties post resurrection is very plausible as well.

Let's just hope the riddle will get solved once the books come out... (*fingers crossed *).

You are one of my favorite Jonsa bloggers, and I loved your answer to the other anon on Jon's resurrection. It's interesting to think how this will go in the books. While I don't know whether we'll get Jon in Ghost POV, I think we will definitely see a fight between Ghost and Ramsey's dogs. This is foreshadowed in the first book when Jon gives Ghost half a honeyed chicken, and Ghost fends off a black dog looking to take the chicken. A honeyed chicken sounds like slang for names for girls.

(2)  Here’s the full quote:  "Dogs moved between the tables, trailing after the serving girls. One of them, a black mongrel bitch with long yellow eyes, caught a scent of the chicken. She stopped and edged under the bench to get a share. Jon watched the confrontation. The bitch growled low in her throat and moved closer. Ghost looked up, silent, and fixed the dog with those hot red eyes. The bitch snapped an angry challenge. She was three times the size of the direwolf pup. Ghost did not move.      

(3)  He stood over his prize and opened his mouth, baring his fangs. The bitch tensed, barked again, then thought better of this fight. She turned and slunk away, with one last defiant snap to save her pride. Ghost went back to his meal.“  In terms of how we will know Jon loves Sansa, I think Jon’s resurrection will be more traumatic in the books.

(4) We may get Jon’s POV that he has inappropriate feelings for Sansa, but the reader won’t be able to tell whether this is a side effect of the resurrection. Then, Jon will go to see Dany, and his POV will be hidden. The audience may even root for him to fall in love with Dany to stop his inappropriate feelings for Sansa. It may seem like he is getting over his "weird” Sansa feelings. Then, R+L=J will be revealed  along with the truth that Jon has always loved Sansa. Would love any thoughts?

if I remember correctly GRRM himself also wanted a dog-wolves fight in season 4, the last season he was involved in - a possible foreshadowing of Jon’s fight with Ramsay. I must admit that I love Jon in Ghost so much that I wrote a series of ficlet about this, how it might play out. I would be so excited about Jon fighting in Ghost against Ramsay’s dogs!

I would also alert you to the fact that there is another instance of ‘Jon’ fighting over a bird:

"That's the real king of this castle right there," one of the gold cloaks had told her. "Older than sin and twice as mean. One time, the king was feasting the queen's father, and that black bastard hopped up on the table and snatched a roast quail right out of Lord Tywin's fingers. Robert laughed so hard he like to burst. You stay away from that one, child."(AGOT, Arya III)

That black cat Arya chases in the Red Keep is a Jon stand-in. And here we have a small bird that will be snatched from a Lannister. So, Jon probably will save Sansa from Ramsay’s dogs and from the Lannisters (if there will be a kidnapping).

As for how Jonsa will play out after his ressurection I can easily picture your scenario. I guess we could get Jon being in confusion about who is Sansa and mixing her up with Ygritte and this would play into the depiction of Political Jon. As you said, the reader probably would root for Jon to fall for Dany to get rid of his feelings for Sansa. And this bias would lead to the reader not realising that something is off until the rug is pulled under him/her. I do think this is a very likely scenario and one which I would thoroughly enjoy. I really would like to have TWOW right now!
