Founding Fathers Friday!
From a John Hancock signature in our copy of Jonathan Mayhew’s Christian Sobriety to the (many!) Samuel Adams signatures in his Book of Common Prayer with the Psalms, these former owners made sure to make their marks! We love running into provenance marks no matter who they belong to, but these are an especially exciting pair. In the case of the Samuel Adams book, it would appear the date he records coincides with the year he began his studies at Harvard.
