JonDami Week Day Four: Body swap
A Place to Call Our Own
“The plates don’t go there.”
Jon closed his eyes and took a deep breath. That was the nineteenth time he’d heard that. Nineteenth. In two hours. He’d barely been able to put anything anywhere without hearing how he was doing it wrong. He’d somehow managed to put the shampoo in the wrong place. The shampoo. How the heck do you put the shampoo in the wrong place?
He loved Damian, he really did. But if his boyfriend said he was doing something wrong one more time he was going to grab the plates and chuck them at his head.
Looking over his shoulder with a flat expression, he said, “You know, Dames, if you’re going to be this picky about where everything goes, maybe you should unpack everything.”
“I’m not being picky,” he said, taking the plates and moving them one cabinet over. Jon’s hand twitched. “I just think things would work better if they’re in specific places.”
“That’s the definition of picky,” Jon said. “You literally just described it. You’re proving my point.”
“No, I’m not.” He reached into a box, pulling out that weird tray thing people put their silverware in along with all their silverware. “Put this in that drawer, small forks in the bottom left with small spoon above them, then forks, knives, and spoons in that order.”
Jon looked him dead in the eye and raised an eyebrow.
Damian glared. “Not a word, Kent.”
Grinning victoriously, Jon pressed a kiss to Damian’s cheek then started putting away the silverware in the obsessively specific way he wanted it.
It wasn’t like he didn’t know Damian was obsessive– he did. Intimately. Damian and obsession went hand in hand. He’d figured that out nine years ago when they first met. The fact that he was being like this with their new apartment wasn’t surprising. It was just annoying. And maybe a little bit endearing.
“Alright, you’re Highness,” he said, turning back around to face him. “What can I deign to do next?”
Something round went flying at his head. Jon ducked, a smile chasing its way across his lips. “You really thi–”
The sound of something shattering echoed through the room.
Jon spun, staring at the pieces of whatever Damian had thrown at him.
“Why?!” he asked, gesturing at the vase? Bowl?
“I thought you were going to catch it,” Damian said.
“Why would I catch something flying at my head?”
“Because that’s what you do!”
“No! No, it isn’t! You move out of the way!”
“That makes no sense!”
“Whoa, how did you guys already break something?” Dick asked, walking into the room, the rest of Damian’s family trailing behind him.
“Damian through a vase at my head!”
“It was a bowl!” Damian defended. “And he was supposed to catch it.”
“Why would he catch it?” Tim asked, stepping up next to Dick. “That makes no sense.”
“Thank you.”
“Of course you agree with him, you two share the same misguided logic.”
“Hey,” Jon said, mock-glaring at his boyfriend.
“Any sane person would have caught it.”
“Are you calling me crazy?”
“Yes.”
Jon made a face.
“I mean, you are,” Kon said.
Jon blinked, looking at his brother. When had he come in? Did he miss him in the herd of Damian’s brothers? It was likely. They all looked the same, and so did Kon so… it was possible. Probable. He’d done it before.
“Aren’t you supposed to be on my side?” Jon asked, crossing his arms.
“Nah, only when it suits me,” he said, walking offer and ruffling his hair. Jon swatted at it. “So, how can we help?”
“Ask Damian,” Jon said, smiling sweetly. “He’s very particular.”
Damian glared. “Am not.”
“Yes, you are,” Cass said. “But it is okay. We love you anyway.”
“Alright,” Dick said, clapping his hands. Most likely because Damian looked like he was going to throw something again. “What can we do?”
“Bring in the furniture,” Damian said. “It’s in the moving truck downstairs. The couch goes…”
Jon stopped listening. Instead, he watched Dami, looked at the slight crease between his brow, the little pout to his lips, the way he crossed his arms over his chest, the mess to his hair. He loved when his hair was messy. It looked so much better than when he covered it with gel. It just looked more… him.
Everyone filtered out of the apartment again, going back down to the gigantic moving truck twenty-floors down to bring up their furniture. Smiling, Jon walked behind Damian, wrapping his arms around his waist and resting his head on top of his.
Damian leaned into his chest, placing his hands on top of his own. Smiling, Jon pressed a kiss to his hair. “You know, I think I’m going to like it here.”
“Of course you are,” Damian said, tapping his hand. “I’m here.”
Jon huffed a laugh, poking his side. “Confident, aren’t we?”
“You know it’s true,” he said, turning around and tipping his head back.
“I’m still going to make fun of you,” he said, crinkling his nose.
“I wouldn’t have it any other way,” Damian said, pushing up on his toes and kissing him.
Jon smiled into the kiss. He couldn’t help it. Kissing Damian, it’d always felt like… home. Even that first time, when he’d felt his heart in his stomach and was terrified he was going to miss, there’d been this unmistakable rightness to kissing Damian.
And now they were here, together, in this ridiculously nice apartment in downtown Gotham in a place that was truly theirs, and he was kissing his boyfriend. Things couldn’t get much better right now.
“Aww, you two are adorable.”
Damian pulled away, turning to glare at Kon. Jon couldn’t help the little groan of protest that escaped his lips.
“Shut up, Kent.”
“Nah, I’m good,” he said. “I’ll send you the picture later.”
“Picture?” Jon asked, looking at his brother.
“Yeah,” he said, grinning.
“Give it to me,” Jon said, walking towards him.
Kon backed up. “No thanks.”
“Kon.”
“Jon.”
“Give it.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“Saying yes doesn’t change my answer.”
“It should.”
“It doesn’t.”
“Give it.”
“No.”
He shot at him, tackling him to the floor.
Jondami Week 2019
Day 5: Young love
DamiJonweek2019 - Day One : moving in together.
Title: Penthouse in the sky
Rating: T (for some reference at the end)
Summary: Jon has been accepted to a college on the other side of the country and Damian decide to take care of his living arrangement.
Author’s note : No beta. Age up character. I know next to nothing about USA school system so I might be wrong here.
*******************************
When Jonathan has applied to a college in San Francisco, he didn’t have much hope to get accepted. Sure, he has worked really hard on his photo portfolio but it wasn’t as good as he has wished. That why when he has received his acceptance letter, he has been excited and scare.
Now he has to find a place to live one the other side of the country and get the money for it.
So when Damian has offered to take care of his living arrangement, it has been a big relief. His boyfriend is staying a lot in that town in the Titans Tower with the team, so he was well placed to help him find something. Jon itself has come a few times to assist them even if he wasn’t a member officially. He would be okay to have a small room in the tower until he can find a place for himself.
But that wasn’t so simple. Jon should have realized it has been a bad idea to give Damian free rein in this situation. His father has often warned him that those Wayne boys don’t know how not to go overboard. As Jon is standing in the private elevator of the new Wayne enterprise division building, he begins to regret his decision.
When the door of the elevator opened, he froze on the spot. The only thing he could see is a breathtaking view from the window wall. The sun was nearly blinding as it reflects on the San Francisco bay. From up here the barely have any other building in the view. It was like flying with his feet on the ground. The elevator makes a noise and Jon finally step out but didn’t move from in front of the door.

Day 5 of JonDami week – Young Love
Okay so I think we can all safely say I really like to play Tim/Kon and Jon/Dami off against each other. But like… it’s so fun.
