Ces structures en forme de cube, taillées dans le grès, témoignent des prouesses architecturales de la Nabatéens. Ils remontent au 1er siècle après J.-C. et sont parmi les premiers sites qui accueillent les visiteurs à leur entrée à Pétra par le Siq. Le nom « Djinn Blocks » est dérivé du mot arabe « jinn », faisant référence aux êtres spirituels, en raison de l'aura mystérieuse qui les entoure. The Djinn Blocks are a series of monumental tombs in the ancient city of Petra, Jordan. These cube-shaped structures, carved in sandstone, testify to the architectural prowess of the Nabataeans. They date back to the 1st century AD and are among the first sites that welcome visitors to their entrance to Petra via the Siq. The name "Djinn Blocks" is derived from the Arabic word "jinn", referring to the spiritual beings, because of the mysterious aura that surrounds them.
