Smelly decorations!

The fruits drying out at the back of your fridge aren't as useless as you may think. Gloucester based enterprise Jormaepourri is an example of that.
The two year old business, which has currently set up a small stall at the ongoing Cardiff Christmas market opposite High Street Arcade sells wreaths, wall hangings and potpourri made out of dried oranges, lime, apples and chillies. Cinnamon sticks are also added to certain pieces to add a zing to the aroma.
Phil Ritchie, the sales representative who is looking after the stall explains that these fruits are dried in low kilns over a few hours. When the fruits have been in for 20 minutes, vertical cuts are made on them, and they are done when those cuts turn white. “I’m just covered in the smell!” he jokes while offering his hands for a sniff.
You can pick up a variety of items according to your pocket. Small hangings for cupboards and cars start from £3 a piece whereas a large wreath will cost you £40 and a tree £60.
The items are sprayed with a scent right before being sold which lasts for three months if kept indoors. The fruits themselves last for more than two years. “You can keep them as long as you want”, says Phil, “and throw them out when you get bored.”
