Day 1: What are you currently reading?
6/24/2025 | Tuesday
I haven't posted anything remotely personal in nearly a year. I've barely been on this hellsite in the past year. I've just been feeling so awful and have been so busy. But I'm feeling a little bit better, so…
I've still been reading a ton and working on math. I'm also prepping for around 16 hours of testing for a credential I'm trying to get. I sold my car and bought a hybrid, which I love. Brother M moved away, but we meet halfway a few times a year to attend punk shows together. Sylvia (cat) is 14, and Jack (dog) is 10. Oh, and I finally got a few precise diagnoses of autoimmune disorders, which have turned out to be positive occurrences since I ended up starting some disease-modifying medications.
5 July 2024 || Friday
It was a miserable day. The computer system of SN's car went haywire while I was driving it, so I returned it to her and picked up my car. Then, my car's AC compressor gave out while I was driving from SN's house to work with client E. It was a 45-minute drive, and the temperature outside had reached 115 degrees. The drive was dreadful. I only managed to work for two of the five hours I had planned before heading home. I felt nauseated and tired, and my legs were cramping. I hid it well, and it was just an awful experience. After I got home, I took a freezing shower.
I finished reading Three-Martini Afternoons at the Ritz: The Rebellion of Sylvia Plath & Anne Sexton which brings the number of books I've read this year to twenty-five. The book was okay and interesting, yet somewhat tabloidy. I worked on an adult paint-by-number and struggled to control my tremor. I know the painting won't be perfect, but I enjoy it. I studied for an hour, and I'll be finished with the lessons by tomorrow night. I can't wait to take the exam and get this over with.
4 July 2024 || Thursday
Today was eventful. My little brother, N, turned 22. I worked for five hours, which was awesome because I get paid time and a half on holidays. I picked up a Mediterranean pizza and bought a few new shirts, medication organizers, and flower pots. I also started working on a paint-by-number for adults. I have a pretty annoying tremor, so the painting is difficult for me, but it's still fun.
3 July 2024 || Wednesday
I got out of bed this morning just as my brother N was leaving for work. I took Jack out for a walk, then headed to the store to pick up some file folders and garlic hummus. I spent some time reading Three Martini Afternoons at the Ritz: The Rebellion of Sylvia Plath & Anne Sexton. After that, I worked with EB for seven hours. The desert was sweltering, so I had to change shirts several times. I also found an awesome academic planner that I plan to use for the next year. Lots of studying for poly sci. Lastly, my brother M and I were curious to see if I would look exactly like brother D if I had a beard. Well... my mom had to take a second look at the picture to be sure it was me. So, yes, I do look like him.
July 2, 2024
Tuesday
I took the day off and got some chores done before studying for my political science class. I'm nearly finished with the coursework and need to continue spiraling my review for the upcoming exam. Later, I took Jack out for a walk in the desert. I sat and read part of Three-Martini Afternoons at the Ritz: The Rebellion of Sylvia Plath & Anne Sexton. Then, I went for a long walk by myself. I'm going to bed early-ish, as I have to be at work by 7:30 tomorrow.
Also, I found a photo of me when my hair was black. It's super grey now!
1 July 2024 || Monday I had appointments with the doctor and nutritionist, and both went well. I took the day off from work because I was drained and spent most of the day resting. M helped me go through my notecards for 15 minutes, but we were too exhausted to study longer. I didn't even open any books, which is unusual for me. I have tomorrow off, so I hope to return to my regular schedule.
30 June 2024 || Sunday
I didn't have much time to study today, but I did meal prep and worked on some household chores. Listened to tons of Chappell Roan. I have doctor and nutritionist appointments tomorrow. I'll need to leave the house around 7 to be there by 8:30. After the appointments, I'll focus on studying. On the bright side, I'm ahead in my political science class
