JAPANESE DORAMA QUICK REVIEW/NOTES

I have done the movies list before and now I feel like how about the doramas hehe well anyway as always these are all my opinions, we all have different opinions so don’t take this too seriously. Doing this 4 dorama per post just like before with the movies.

Here we go~

BOKU WA MARI NO NAKA |  RATING: 9/10

- I've read the manga so I was really surprised that it got a live action. If you're familiar with the manga Solanin and Oyasumi Punpun it kind of had the same vibe as those. - It was a good adaptation, no drastic changes from the original story, the main characters are well portrayed although I wished they made Isao look more like a shut in and Yori more of a quiet shy glasses girl stereotype. Isao was in no way a cutie as well as Yori lol - For those who doesn't have a background about the manga well let's just say its on the mature, psychological, categories with a bit of gender bender feel.

RENTAL NO KOI |  RATING: 8/10

- THAT plot twist - This is just a short series with 30min per episode. Its not something really awesome, just average, you might want to watch it tho if you're a Gouriki Ayame fan.

HIRUGAO |  RATING: 9.5/10

- This tore me to pieces both the series and the movie. The series feels like your feelings getting hit by a bus and the movie feels like your feelings getting hit by a bullet train. - There are tons of dramas all over the globe that has the theme "affairs" but I think Hirugao is one of a kind. It had leads but you can't pin point who the antagonists are. The story conveyed all aspects/pov; the husband/wife, the cheaters, the friends, the co-wokers, even the strangers. - The flow of the story is really good. The character developments are on point. - All the time I was watching this I just wanted Sawa to be happy. She may had gone through a lot but I guess in the end she finds it although not in the way she expected it.

TAKANE NO HANA |  RATING: 9.5/10

- I was looking forward to this dorama ever since this was announced and oh boy I wasn't disappointed. - It’s a story about love, family, friendship, and career. - If you're like me who is interested in the different aspects of Japanese culture you gotta watch this. Mostly, the drama revolves around flower arrangers and ikebana. If you're not that familiar with ikebana, to summarize it, Japan has these flower arranging families and unlike your usual flower shop owners they're quite serious about passing on the tradition, they have their own styles and flower arranging schools, and politics is happening when it comes to who the next Iemoto will be. Its really interesting. - Kazama the lead guy is also interesting. His too kind and yet deep character is quite unique. How even though he isn't that physically attractive his heart is gold.

Here we go~

AKUMU-CHAN|  RATING: 9/10

- Quite interesting. Revolves around dreams and also the relationship between students and teachers. - Usually school themed dramas are lead by a role model teacher but for this the lead was a teacher who had contrasting feelings and started as someone who doesn't have a heart. - This had a different story for each episode but at the same time the mysteries revolving the lead was unravelled slowly as the episodes progressed. - Be sure to watch the SP and the movie! 

DAIRENAI  |  RATING: 10/10

- This drama gives you everything. Its so fun and heart warming watching this. - The characters are natural, the flow of story is smooth, lines are well written, there's a lot of really cute moments though at the same time there are a lot of scenes that's definitely going to tug at your heart. - I was literally laughing then the next second crying. It's really beautiful don't miss out on your Jdorama life, go watch this!

KIMI GA KOKORO NI SUMISUITA  |  RATING: 8/10

- I almost dropped this. Ogawa's character ticked me off on the first few epsidoes. Then it got quite good in the middle. The ending is fine I guess. - Mukai Osamu's really good (his face and his acting lol) - Yoshizaki is so dreamy. He's the reason why I didn't drop this series. His character is so lovable. A guy who accepts your past and loves all sides of you. (Oh God will I be ever blessed with one haha)

MIRAI-SAN  |  RATING: 9/10

- A 5 episode home dorama - As the title implies its about the family of Mirai who lives in the near future(mirai). - It's light and quite funny. Perfect short break if you've been watching heavy dramas.

Here we go~

ONNA JOUSHU NAOTORA  |  RATING: 10/10

- I've mentioned this before that I'm hopelessly obsessed with Suda Masaki which was the main reason I picked this up - Surprisingly I really got hooked with this, I don't usually watch lengthy dramas but wow I felt like I wanted more of this - This is the reason I started watching NHK dramas - I loved this so much after watching the whole series I became interested with the Ii clan and searched about them haha - The cast was great too!

SOREDEMO IKITE YUKU  |  RATING: 9/10

- This show was full of emotions, you can say its sad but its still close to reality I think - The ending was inevitable also I can not think of any other ending for this. If the leads ended up together I think its going to go against the whole series' point about repentance and forgiveness.

WATASHI GA RENAI DEKINAI RIYUU  |  RATING: 8.5/10

- 4 ladies, 4 different stories tied up as one through a common goal - I like the variety of the characters and how each was different even though they all are looking for love - Nothing too much here, not too cheesy, not too emotional just right

YUME WO ATAERU |  RATING: 8.5/10

- I think this is Nana Komatsu's best portrayal. It was a character that is totally different to her usual roles and she still slayed it - Mackenyu dancing omg and her love scenes with Nana OMFG - The story is also nice and kind of leaves you with a question at the ending

Here we go~ medical dramas for this post

KOUNODORI 1 & 2  |  RATING: 10/10

- Babies! It’s a medical drama that centers on pregnancy, babies, and their families - First season was more about Kounotori sensei and at the same time the patients' different circumstances. - Second season had equal focus on each of the main characters. - Each character is unique and interesting, you don't get to hate a character. There is no antagonist or whatsoever evil side and yet its so good. Again Japanese medical dramas are the BEST (fight me I'll give you a detailed explanation with citations and comparisons as to why they are the best) 

SUMMER RESCUE  |  RATING: 9/10

- Japan has all sorts of medical drama and this one is about a clinic, a single clinic in the mountains. - A skillful doctor from the city, accustomed to the advance medical technology of the city gets sent to be the head doctor of a clinic in the mountain. Imagine it from there. - This is a good medical dorama, focusing on the struggles of being a clinic with little equipment and resources.

UNNATURAL  |  RATING: 10/10

- Satomi Ishihara as a forensic wow - Its like medical and crime theme combined - Each character was different and interesting - It was a different case each episode but there is the main case that was gradually shown in the story

NOBUTA WO PRODUCE  |  RATING: 10/10

- 2018 and I could still sing and dance to Seishun Amigo that’s how addicted I was to this dorama - Akira-shock! Lol Yamapi was too adorable in this - Plus young beauties Maki Horikita and Erika Toda 

NODAME CANTABILE  |  RATING: 10/10

- This was a perfect live action adaptation - Juri Ueno is forever Nodame in my eyes glad she still had the same hairstyle up to now - Made me love classical music

SEIGI NO SE  |  RATING: 9/10

- Ahhhh I want a season 2 of this! - I learned some stuff here, like how a prosecutor's job is different to that of the detectives, I've always thought they're kind of the same hehe - The cast was good! Aihara-san is really funny and Otsuka's reaction every time Ririko gets too close is priceless - Each episode had a different case, each case looks simple at first but then you realize "ah this kind of complication could actually happen"

SPROUT  |  RATING: 8/10

- I've read the manga so uhhh I think the manga was better - The thing is it has that selfishness that I hate about shoujo manga leads - This is Aoi Morikawa's acting debut and from this dorama she has grown into a great actress today

Here we go~

GOKUSEN 1-3  |  RATING: 9.5/10

- Don't kill me for not giving it a 10 hahaha - Because of this Yukie Nakama is forever Yankumi in my heart - All the seasons are really good, it’s the peak of Japanese school doramas - Its quite sad that Japan rarely do these kind of dorama now. Most school themed dorama are based on shoujo manga nowadays - I actually read the manga that is why I only gave it a 9.5 if they really did go as how the manga story was its definitely a 10

ITSUKA KONO KOI WO OMOIDASHITE                                                    KITTO NAITE SHIMAU   |  RATING: 9/10

- The kind of sadness that totally breaks you but you still watch it anyway - SakaKen was soooo ugh why is he always the second choice WHY??? - Great cast

KAGERI YUKU NATSU  |  RATING: 8/10

- Short wowow doramas are always a good watch - Kind of predicted who the missing kid was but anyway how it was investigated and all was interesting

KAKEGURUI  |  RATING: 9.5/10

- Not 10 because I need a season 2 lol - Minami Hamabe slayed - I like the opening song and how they where like singing to it - I read the manga and watch the anime and wow this adaptation is great

MONDAI NO ARU RESTAURANT  |  RATING: 10/10

- Strong female lead - Tackled issues about gender equality - Uplifting - This dorama is really beautiful, I love how each character was different and yet they all had the same goal - Friendship

Here we go~

DELE |  RATING: 10/10

- Perfect, this series deserved all the awards it got. - The SudaxYamada duo is really great. Both are exceptional actors. - The drama is like most jdoramas which had a different case each episode. Each case is unique and tells the value of life. - I think what makes this drama extra special is because watching each episode makes you feel how much effort and talent was put into it, not just by the actors but as well as the people behind it. The script and story flow was good, the symbolisms, the way how each scene was taken, the lighting, the angles of the camera, even the colors used for the drama are all so pleasing.

KODOMO KEISATSU  |  RATING: 10/10

- This is soooo cute! Its like a whole agency made up of Conan Edogawa LOL - These child actors are all so good, really had fun watching this one.

SHINJUKU SEVEN  |  RATING: 10/10

- Story revolves around Nanase an appraiser with extraordinary appraising skills. Who has been searching for the one who killed his dad. - Each episode is really interesting and the plot twists are well done. - The cast did well on their roles, Ueda looks so good lol (I know Ueda because of Kat-tun but this is the first time I watched his drama and he's quite good in acting)

SIGNAL |  RATING: 9.5/10

- THEY FINALLY GAVE KENTARO A DORAMA LEAD ROLE AHHHHH - This was really good, every episode is thrilling, you kind of know who the real villain tho through the first half of the series but you still get intrigued with what will happen.
