Yeah, I want to like her more than I do too… I think that she’s cool - I love her style and attitude and whatnot, but she’s done some really questionable things already. IDK, I too am hoping they’ll do more with her character soon!

like when miles was looking in maya's direction and smiling, i was like, "okay, this HAS to be a coincidence, right?" because weren't there already like five episodes this season dedicated to how miles genuinely likes tristan, and ISN'T just using him??????? but then at the end of the episode when tristan asks him if he still has feelings for maya and miles says LITERALLY NOTHING, JUST STANDS THERE i was SUPER FRUSTRATED AND ANNOYED!!!!!! i'm still hoping that there's some explanation for that, that he's pushing tristan away because of the shit going on at his house, but at this point i'm starting to lose hope. i've never liked matlingsworth because it felt so goddamn RUSHED (like............. we didn't know a literal THING about miles before he started dating maya, so why the hell should anyone care?), and now it just feels really random that he still cares. they never seemed to get along in the first place!!! every damn episode they were together for, they broke up!!!! and were they not just heavily baiting for zaya like two episodes ago? like damn writers, make up your minds.
sorry for ranting lmao, i just HATE how this storyline is unfolding. hopefully it will all come together nicely in the end, but i sincerely fucking doubt it.

haha thanks. usually for #2 it's in women's studies and it's pop culture related and it's a lecture class of 80 and I sit in the front so I sort of feel obliged. like once the professor asked (on the topic of women's achievements in general) when/what the first lesbian kiss on tv was (for those who don't know/care, the answer is roseanne but I can't find any quick source verifying that now soo) and no one answered but it was right up my alley since the answer was roseanne. I answered loud enough for him to hear but quiet enough for it to not be awkward if he'd ignore me.

i extra hated it because i just didn't see it coming!! i mean, this is degrassi, so i probably should have known it would turn into a girl/girl rivalry, but with the way the episode with the trial ended i seriously thought they'd be friends!!! or, at the very least, have some kind of like............ silent bond with each other? like maybe they'd see each other in the hallway and just kind of smile at each other in understanding. i don't know, it's hard to explain. but nope, they had to take the lazy way out.
and i read your review of this episode and i totally agree that it was both fun and REALLY frustrating!! like the triles parts were fun and some of the zoe stuff was okay, but clare's plot.................... UGH.

Yeah someone asked me the other day which couples I ship currently on the show and I realized that there aren’t as many couples as I’d thought there were. There’s just a lot of will-they-won’t-they stuff + love triangles, which I’m a bit bored of tbh
the will-they-won't-they trope is probably one of my least favorites. not just for degrassi, but for all media. it's just too frustrating to watch, and i feel like it's impossible to get away from!!!

it's weird, i feel like degrassi is so clogged with relationship drama, but there aren't even that many canon couples. i guess it's just all the will they won't they shit, and then there are couples like matlingsworth that get together and break up over the course of one episode
