kinda fell off the face of the earth, have a headcanon! (apologising for the lack of content)

ignoring any and all canon,

judith was named after the song 'hey jude'. lori loved the beatles, and used to play them all the time for carl before the apocalypse. in the moment rick asked him to name the baby, he instantly thought of his mother, it was the closest he could get to homage. his father didn't need to know that.

carl hated singing for people, it was one of his most vulnerable actions (literally canon), but he didn't mind it if it were for jude. when he was sure no one else was in vicinity of witnessing it, he'd sing it for her, telling her all the stories of her mother, and how much she'd loved her. sometimes he'd get the words wrong, and sometimes he'd add extra verses just for her, she didn't mind.

judith being so young, soon forgot about it all after carl died. it wasn't until jude finally played the record mei bought for her that she heard the words again, and for the first time in so long, she was able to remember her brother's voice, and if she tried hard enough, she could convince herself it was him singing to her.

im sorry yall but i just love them,,,, like i imagine lilith is extremely no filter and knows shes hot & jude is just this grumpy asshole who is weak in the knees for her,,, both being artistic and kinda selfish really feeds into the deadbeat parent goal of gen 1

This is entirely inspired by my belief that Jude is gonna be the heroine to redeem Negan, and a tiiiiny part of my heart that thinks ten years from now she’d see that silver fox as quite the Daddy lol.

She also goes by L.A. Uncle Daryl still calls her “Little Asskicker,” and she loves that.
