Not to be insane but I’m #Jackby pilled tonight and this little section of dialogue is always so interesting to me
He basically asks him “Aren’t you lonely?” At the start
And I don’t think it was intentional but the way Jack asks Bigby “I mean, what are you even doing here?” With that expression followed by a very stern “I’m investigating.” And then Jack smugly going “Sure…” reads so much like Jack trying to suggest Bigby’s more interested in him than his investigation. and Bigby frowning as if to turn him down and be like “I’m not entertaining this”
In fact there’s sooooooo many things about this scene I could point out that suggest something about their history including the the environment the shot compositions etc but I’ll refrain for now
I don’t necessarily see them as some heartbroken bitter exes so much as I see them lowkey just hatefucking and/or having of done so in the past and Jack holds it over Bigby’s head forever cuz he lowkey wants to #tapthat again
