everyone around her was unfamiliar. except for a select few, amélie rarely let anyone be close to her, nevermind touch her. on a rare expedition out of her small room–and out of mercy’s sight–amélie slowly made her way towards the kitchen. brewing tea was easy enough for a late night drink, and besides, it was really all she could do. her hands were shaking too much.
as soon as a hand touched her shoulder, amélie’s reaction wascalculated. instinctual. a quick drop, and her leg swung out, knocking the other to the ground. it was only after she had the other pinned that she realized what happened. she stood, backtracking and hitting the counter roughly.
