You never really ‘complete’ evolution bc it’s everlasting.

I get so frustrated with my position in life, but I truly have come so far. Like, a bitch used to ride the bus.

I’ve come to realize that in order for us to be that version of greatness that we see our selves as , is to BE that version of greatness.

All we have is the present.

We see it bc it’s already ours bc we’ve already lived it.

Bring it back to the present.

First Sunday of June

Between switching to oat milk, limiting dairy (not stocking up on cheese every week), limiting gluten and sticking to a good workout regimen turns out not running anymore hasn’t been a disaster. In fact, have noticed a shift towards positive outcomes. Just another one of those moments you realize sometimes fighting against your body’s inclinations isn’t the best option. Sometimes. 💪🏻

Yesterday, I wanted to sleep in. Woke up tired but was on a tight schedule. Had to get my swim in and grocery shop cause we are on the Rock n Roll Marathon route - surrounded on three sides so basically stuck; needed to be done by 12:30 as we had plans at 1. Got my butt out the door after 1.5 cups of coffee; I could feel my fatigue during my swim, so did 50 laps instead of 72 and had a caffeinated iced latte afterwards. Of course today, when I have all the time to be leisurely, I awoke bright eyed and bushy tailed. Ain’t that always the way? 💁‍♀️

My BIL had grand opening of his shop in Maine last week. The invited open was Tuesday and public opening was Friday. I wanted to be there. And I miss my brother, who’s in Iowa now. How can I be in all the places at once? Time + distance + money = missing people. 💗

May Gray has ceded to June Gloom. Several mornings have been drizzly and cold. Sun and blue sky will make an appearance in the afternoons but our Summer rolls out slowly at the coast. I don’t mind; it’s gonna be hot soon enough. 🌞

Book group has been canceled and I’m not mad about it. Means I don’t have to leave the house today. 🥰

Ordered new checks with new bank. Despite their reassurance that old checks will be honored, I’d rather not risk it. Also, need to change all of my auto-pays, etc. Pain in the ass as I didn’t switch banks, my bank was bought. New credit card showed up but not my debit card. Interesting priority, new bank. 🤨

Need to crack my library book for other book group. My reading mojo is at a low at the moment. Still haven’t read any of the 3 books I bought in … March? Wait, I’ve read one of the 3. Being in 2 book clubs has complicated my reading habits. Not a problem per se - definitely a challenge. 📚

Son of friends is floundering at university. Guess he’s coming out of his sophomore year on his back foot. His mom is understandably pissed - she made a lot if sacrifices to help him attend school of his choice, including staying at a job in another state to get tuition benefits, which means not making California salary but paying California taxes. Complicated as, from the outside, sounds like typical college experience of “he’ll figure it out. Or not.” But also, to watch your kid blow an (expensive) opportunity you didn’t get to have? That’s tough. Added to that: from what I know of her son, I’m not at all surprised. Smart but not mature - probably would’ve benefited from a gap year or two. Another friend’s daughter is changing schools after one year. Her dream school turned out … not to be. God, I’m so glad we don’t have to go through this stuff. Getting myself though university was hard enough. 👩‍🎓

Okay, time for another cup of (decaf) coffee. ☕️
