Juniper Joyfield’s Powers

Telekinesis:

Her main power is telekinesis. The ability to move anything with your mind. This power comes in handy the most. June hasn’t found the limitation on this power yet. Everything she had tried to move with her mind has responded positively, allowing her to do so. But she will eventually learn that there are things she can’t control. The bigger, or stronger the object/person/thing is, the harder it is to move it. Her hands burn/heat up when she’s using this power. The bigger/powerful the thing she’s moving, the more her hands will burn. She could get bad burns marks, and possibly lose her hands if she’s not careful. She has a pair of gloves that help with this side effect, that keeps the heat in check, so when she’s wearing them she doesn’t have to worry about her hands burning up.  When she’s using her power. Her hands burn/glow white, most likely from the intense heat of using her powers, but when she’s moving small things, the glow isn’t as intense, just a soft glow. And whatever object she’s moving attracts a faint white wispy aura around it, signifying Juniper is using her telekinesis, and sometimes that white, wispy aura surrounds June’s hands as well, but not as much as the thing she is moving. Her eyes get a faint, glossy, white look when she’s using her telekinesis as well, so it doesn't completely white out her pupils, but just puts a layer of white over them.

Phasing: 

This power allows her to act almost like a ghost and pass through walls, objects, and people. Basically, the molecules/atoms in everything are being separated and shifted aside by Juniper’s telekinesis powers, which allow her to then pass or phase through anything. Just like with her telekinesis, she will find out that there are things she can’t phase through. Phasing takes a lot of concentration because if she gets stuck in something, it’s extremely hard and dangerous to get out.

Life Force Healing: 

The last power Juniper has is the ability to heal herself through life force. This means that if Juniper is hurt, or dying that if she comes in contact with another living thing, she can borrow their life force to heal or save herself. But she has to do it on her own, the power will not do it for her. So if she is dying or hurt and does not come in contact with another living thing, she will not heal. This power is limited to living things only. Anything brought back from the dead, or already dead will not heal her. Along with that, while borrowing the life force of another, a grey splotch will grow where June is in contact with them and will grow as she uses more of their life force. The grey area is permanent. The longer June uses their life force, the weaker and weaker they become until eventually, they could die if June stays in contact for too long. Things that she has used life force from will gain it back slowly.

Juniper  Joyfield Moodboard

Juniper’s Personality:

Often anxious in social situations, Juniper finds it hard to build her confidence and make new friends. She often over thinks the littlest things, and that holds her back from growing as a person, and developing strong/new relationships. The close friends she has, she is content with, and doesn't see the purpose in creating new ones, as the idea of making a fool of herself is terrifying. Though she may be introverted, Juniper is a major goofball, and somebody that could have you rolling around on the ground in tears of laughter. Her comedic side only ever comes out with her closest friends and family, and you'll hardly ever see her putting this trait to use when around a group of new people. Juniper has a lot of integrity, never straying from her moral values, no matter what people say. Though she often finds it difficult to stand up for what she believes in when facing a stranger. Loyalty plays a big part in Juniper's personality. If it comes down to it, Juniper will always be by her family and friends side, never straying from her support for them. She's somebody you would want on your side in the darkest of times. Though she can be a bit impatient and slightly emotional at times, Juniper's hard working and insightful characteristics outshine the negative ones.

Juniper’s Hobbies/Talents:

Juniper has a wide rang of hobbies, some including DIYS, reading, star-gazing, early morning runs, and running her dog Arlo's blog. These hobbies allow her to escape from the stress of every day life. Within those hobbies, she has a few talents that help build her confidence, working towards her social anxiety slowly vanishing. Fashion design is one of her greatest strengths, her dream job being a Fashion Designer, and creating her own clothing line. Cooking falls in this category too, as she is always making up for her parents horrible meals, and if her fashion dreams failed, she would think about going into the culinary field. Diving comes next, as Juniper is a varsity diver on her school's dive team, this being the one thing you would not guess about Juniper when looking at her. She's been diving since she was eight and has no plans to stop anytime soon, hoping to continue this passion in college. Lastly is her smarts in astrology. She's been studying it from a young age, due to her dad, and is one of the most knowledgeable people in this field you'll ever meet.

Juniper’s Ambitions/Dreams:

Juniper Joyfield is what some would call "over imaginative" due to the fact her head is always in the clouds, dreaming about all things fantasy. What would be a heart attack for some, is Juniper's wildest dreams. The idea of the impossible becoming a reality is something that fascinates Juniper's mind. Though a little voice in her head says that's not possible, Juniper can't help but imagine what it would be like to dawn the same abilities as her favorite comic books heroes. Up until she was 15, Juniper tried her hardest to convince herself that what she desperately wanted, needed, in her life was not ever going to happen. Her heart would ache at the at the thought, but she continued to push away the one wish she had. Everyday was a battle with herself. A constant wave of "What if it's possible?" and "It will never be possible." She tried playing it off as childish, but there was always that voice of hope nestled in her heart, trying to outweigh the pessimistic logic in her brain. Anything out of the ordinary had her heart beating wildly, only to have reality settle in, as she realized she was being immature. Nothing in the world made her happier, than the idea of the impossible.

Juniper Joyfield’s Struggles

These posts will talk a bit about some of  the things my OC’s struggle with in life, whether it’s mentally, emotionally, or physically. I guess this is a bit of a trigger warning in case some of these topics might be sensitive for certain people. 

Juniper struggles a lot with her social anxiety and self-confidence. She is very anxious in social situations and constantly overthinks the littlest of things. She’s always worried that people are watching her and judging each action she makes. This causes her self-confidence to take a real blow, as her constant worrying leads to self-doubt. She doesn’t think very highly of herself because of her anxiety, and is worried that she’s not enough for her friends, family, or just life in general. She also struggles with a bit of PTSD after the incident when she got her powers. The thief that pulled her into the alleyway had made a sudden movement to grab her, one that she was not aware of. After that incident occurred, Juniper really struggled with sudden touches that she didn’t know where to going to happen. So even the slightest of taps on the shoulder she doesn’t see coming, has her shaking violently and she finds it difficult to breathe and think.

Whisper

Reason:

Juniper goes by the name Whisper when out fighting crime, due to the fact that she’s always silent. Having powers, and saving people doesn’t give her an edge of confidence like it would with most people. So when she saves people, or fights, or uses her  powers, she’s completely quiet. Some people say they haven’t even heard a whisper from her. That’s how she got the name to begin with.
