With a splash, James canonballed into the small lake - more like pond, really - that sat on the edge of the clearing where they’d set up their tent.
Sirius laughed, shaking his head as his brother appeared from below the surface, normally messy hair tamed but now with a slightly green hue.
“You’ve got algae in your hair,” Sirius commented, watching from the edge of the pond.
James shrugged, floating along in the cool water. “It’ll wash out. Come on, it’s nice!”
Sirius shook his head. He spent enough time and money on his hair to know that a minute spent in that pond would ruin it.
“I like my hair how it is, thanks.”
“Vain git,” James shot back, diving back under the water.
Distracted by the antics of the dark haired boy, Sirius didn’t hear someone coming up behind him. And he didn’t register the attack until he fell, with a yelp and a splash, straight into the algae filled pool.
“REMUS JOHN LUPIN!” He shouted, spluttering and wiping his now bedraggled hair out of his face, looking up at Remus, who was grinning down at him. “You will PAY for this!”
