one of the reasons i bristle a lil at zukos character arc is the way it kind of taps into this idea that zuko was usurped from his birthright as fire lord by his sister who was "better" by the conventions and values of the fire nation at the time and the narrative rewards his newfound honour by giving him the throne and like... there is a lot more to the story than just that but i cant help but read a gendered element into that story like there is something deviant abt azulas talent and hard work and precision but zuko is gifted this power by dragons and then hes the best idk. obv the moral is dont be cruel, dont dominate other people, respect other cultures and thats all true. but theres just this underlying current thats reinforced by iroh thats a lil :/
