1. what dragon scared your commander the most?
pepa always thought it would be primordus. he studied ruined underground ratas for statics and ruined dwarf sites for the priory, and with that expertise came a lot of grief for the whole civilizations lost to destroyers and fear of what would happen if primordus woke again. but when it actually happened, primordus was just a slow-moving, dumb animal. jormag, on the other hand, was efficient and purposeful in its efforts to wipe out the kodan and norn and bury their cultures under snow. pepa found them by far the scarier enemy, and channeled his anger for the dwarves and ancient asura into energy to fight for the kodan and norn.
2. who is your commander closest to now?
taimi! as the only grown asura in dragon’s watch, pepa has always worked overtime to be a respectable mentor for taimi, trying to replace the whole support network of professors, TAs, classmates, krewemates, and family members that taimi could’ve had if she’d stayed in rata sum. at first, taimi found her overbearing and stuffy, and didn’t think much of her brains—especially compared to zojja’s. but over the years she came to really admire pepa and think of her as somewhere in between a sibling and a mom.
3. who was your commander closest to prior?
before maguuma, pepa and zojja got along like a house on fire, but their relationship was always playfully professional. pepa knew trahearne for less time, and they never shared a lab space, but he was pepa’s true best friend. nobody before or since has ever understood the intensity of pepa’s feelings for dead cultures the way trahearne did, or been as completely, openly charmed by an asura who in rata sum felt pretty average.
