Sending healthy vibes to you across the pond! A nice story for you - I'm in social isolation atm, as we had students we interact with daily on our uni campus test positive last week. Stuck home alone as my partner is with her parents & obviously can't come back right now. My amazing neighbours came & sat outside my window for half an hour earlier & had a chat with me through the glass & left some food outside for me. First people I've interacted with in the flesh in 6 days! They're the best.

Oops pressed send too soon! As I was saying I just meant that people seem determined to take every tiny joke in the show and turn it into a huge deal especially this week, and it’s like some people have forgotten somewhere along the line that they’re watching a comedy and that although it has an amazing heart there are lot of things are meant purely for laughs. Hope that makes sense!

oh i totally agree that some things are just supposed to be funny and we don’t need to take every line incredibly seriously. but at the same time, who am i to decide, well THIS line we’re allowed to over-analyze and THAT one we’re not, you know? so if people want to have discussions about whichever parts of the episodes, even if i personally think they were probably just meant to be funny, i’m not here to play gatekeeper on that and am going to at least attempt to engage with other people’s questions and concerns with a thoughtful answer of some kind. it’s just an extension of what i try to always make clear on this blog which is that my opinion is not the only one that matters--if someone else wants to take a particular line or scene or whatever seriously instead of as (or in addition to being) a joke, then that’s totally fine, and i’m happy to have a conversation where i try to approach it from their perspective.

I've supported a tonne of celebs I think are talented over the years but I honestly don't think I've ever wanted all the good things to happen for someone as much as want it for Dan. He's so freaking talented and hard-working and seems like such a sweetheart of a person and it makes me want to do a David laugh-cry seeing all the attention and praise and buzz he has been getting this year and now the huge buzz that seems to be happening in the run up to the Emmy's. brb off to sob happy ears
