"I know it's been a while, but it's still so crazy to me that I get to look at your face every night," Jonesy breathes, gazing adoringly into the brown eyes looking back at him.
With the Child- Grogu, from what Luke had told them- fast asleep in the room next to theirs, it's easy for them to simply exist with one another. As hectic as their lives can be, he loves just being able to lay in Din's arms and just breathe him in. He's heard people talk about marriage as if it's some burden, yet, with Din, it's been the easiest thing he's done. Even years since they've married, every day-ever moment- between them and their family is nothing short of perfect.
John's hand raises to cup the side of the Mandalorian's face, his thumb stroking gently along his cheek bone.
"I love you."
He knows he's said it before so many times, but he doesn't get tired of saying it.
@justjonesin, unprompted.
It took too long for Din to stop feeling embarrassed at the rush of joy that accompanied each I love you John would give him. The feeling was just so foreign; beyond the love he felt for family, John made Din feel more. Made Din want more, evident in the way his gaze softens and his teeth scrape at John's palm in a display saved only for when they were alone.
He'd always known about kisses. Nobody told him about bites, but now that he's aware of them, he doesn't bother resisting.
"I love you, too," Din mumbles, and though his voice is muffled against John's palm, his gaze is sharp even as it comes from the corner of his eye.
"And I keep telling you..."
Din's hand rests in the small of John's back, pulling him closer. The sheets beneath him-- soft cotton from Nevarro, a luxury on a place like Mandalore-- rustle lightly until their knees touch.
"It's a normal, human face. You stare too much."
Never mind that Din's terribly expressive face is visibly pink with delight.
