I’ll give my left kidney for a crumb of lore about your medievalfell bois.
That'll be Bastion and Steele, I love these two! As always, these characters are cowritten by myself and @justsamwich
Bastion (MedievalFell Papyrus)
He's the captain of the royal guard, often being assigned to lead the most important or serious battles. He's also often taken along as the head of protection for the Asgore, Toriel, and Frisk when they have diplomatic meetings to attend.
Bastion wears his armor if he's outside of his room, unless he's instructed to do otherwise by Asgore or Toriel. This is a physical manifestation of his struggle to be vulnerable with others. Being in his armor is just one of the ways he keeps his walls up with others. He has a pretty deep fear of being or hurt ot his vulnerability being used to get to someone else and hurt them.
Despite having issues being vulnerable, Bastion desires a simple life, with the possibility of getting to settle down and have a family. He's been tired of being a soldier since before monsters came up to the surface and while the fighting is not as bad as it could be, he doesn't like it.
He's an incredibly loyal individual, which means if you can get past his walls and win his trust, he'd die for you. Of course, at that point, if you asked him to live for you, then he'd do that instead.
Steele (MedievalFell Sans)
Steele is a blacksmith at the castle. He seems to enjoy the work, often taking on massive orders of armor and weapons on his own.
He is also still the judge, though this position is one he'd rather not hold. Still, he carries out his duties as needed until a succesor can be arranged.
While he is a man of few words, Steele knows how to make them count. He is blunt and direct, resulting in a bit of a bad reputation. He pays no mind to the rumors that float around the castle regarding this.
He has had a strained relationship with Bastion in the past; that has been largely mended, but there is still some work to be done. His brother is the only one Steele will talk to at lenghth (initially).
As one gets to know Steele a bit better, he is more open about talking and letting his sense of humor shine through. He's got a snarky kind of way of telling jokes- usually at his own expense.
One might also learn that he's struggled immensely with anger issues in the past, but he has done a great amount of work to improve on these. Being on the surface and stepping into the role of blacksmith have also helped immensely.
