Does any one else have difficulty with making your characters do irrational, “off-the-wall” things?
When I’m watching or reading something I question the character’s actions constantly. A lot of not-so-great reactions, decisions, motives etc make no sense to me when it’s obviously going to turn out not-so-good.
But human’s are irrational, they contradict themselves so to not include such incidents would make the character seem inhuman. This is why my thoughts worry me so much because it makes me feel like I’m arrogant or a robot and I have a hard time making my characters do “stupid” things. But I can’t fathom why the character is doing something that is not going to be effective when there are more logical options.
