The Premise

My name is S. I can't tell you my last name. It would be too dangerous.

Well, no. That's not true. It's more that I was born in the late 80s and so have a horror of my real name being on the Internet. And also I was, as so many of us were, radicalized by the Animorphs long before I realized it.

So, like, I'm gonna reread them all. Not just because the world is a hellish place right now and I would like to be in a slightly different hellish place. Not just because there's a chunk of the series in the late 40s I only read once and don't own (other than the PDFs). And not just because my kid is about the age I was when I read them.

But mostly, because they're great.

My plan is to read the whole series, in order, and write about each one. Less plot summary - though expect that, because obvs - and more reflection and discussion. These will be my opinions only. And I make no promises as to speed: I read hella fast, but I don't want to rush this. I could burn through the whole series in a weekend (again), but I won't.

So watch the skies (wrong fiction). Pay attention. And never stay in morph longer than two of your Earth hours.

NOTE: I will be reading the series in release order, not chronological order. I will also read the Alternamorphs, the companion book for the TV series, will do my level best to watch the TV series, and may even play the video game(s) if I can find and stomach them. Apparently there was also a board game, which. Y'know. I will also read at least one parody, Vegemorphs: The Fungus Among Us, mainly because I already own it and it's got one of the all-time best covers.
