He’s a very good boy. He’s in love with Herald and feels extremely guilty about everything he’s doing, but he’s gonna do what it takes to get the truth out. Herald’s Thoughts on Kade’s Scar

Just a little drabble about Herald noticing my Sidestep Kade’s lip scar when they first met.

It cuts through the very edge of his mouth, Daniel noticed in their first meeting. He hadn’t put much thought into it, too busy trying not to explode because oh shit, that’s Sidestep! Daniel was distracted away from taking in Sidestep’s disheveled and… tired appearance by the conversation picking back up. “Hello Chen, it’s been a while”

It twitches when he’s annoyed. He learned that when he called him Sidestep. He did not like being called Sidestep. It throws Daniel for a second, but he recovers quickly. “As you wish… Kade”

It stretches when he’s surprised. Sidest-Kade seemed shocked that Argent could be controlled so easily, even more so by a supposed ally. “A hero?”

It seems to slant a bit when he sighs. His expression is almost wistful, with a slow melancholy taking over as he speaks. Daniel thinks maybe he shouldn’t have asked. “I suppose I do… In a way”

It curls when he smiles. It’s cute, Daniel realises. Si-Kade’s eyes light up with an unknown joke as he shrugs. “I’m fine”

It’s over half an hour later, as Daniel is sitting in the break room that he realises just how much thought he was putting into that little scar. He wondered how Kade got it. It gave his kind face a slight edge to it. A sense of mystery. He wanted to see more of it. Daniel wondered if he had more scars… “Oh no” Daniel whispered in horror to the empty room. “He’s hot”
