Yes, this image was initially included in the post and was removed from it about a half an hour later. (Weibo keeps a record of the edit history of all posts, so you can always go back and review what was changed and when).

First of all here's the photo and captions:

When 1 = 4

Uh-oh! YBO has learned mirror multiplication too!

There are a couple of issues with this photo that make it somewhat potentially controversial or leave room for unintended interpretations.

The first thing is the caption above the photo, 1 = 4. Some people are claiming (likely in a tongue-in-cheek way) that YBO is confirming DD is a top* (because 1 and 0 are very common gay slang in China for top and bottom).

*A discussion I hate for various reasons.

The second thing is the very blatant kadian, 2314 (ai san yi s(h)i or "love Zhan whole life"). This is a kadian DD has used in the past.

There is some plausible deniability in the numbering. The DD labeled 1 represents the real DD. 2 represents the first reflection, 3 the third, and so on. So when you start with the real DD and go from left to right you end up with 2314.

Why was it removed? A few possibilities come to mind:

YBO removed it in response to complaints from solos. (I haven't seen any comments from them complaining about it, but that doesn't mean they don't exist, or that they didn't contact the studio directly to complain).

YBO realized their 'error' and preemptively removed it.

YBO is straddling two fandoms and always intended to include the photo and later remove it, thereby throwing a candy while appeasing solos.

DD was annoyed by the sexual connotation some people were giving the caption and had it removed.

A rabbit scolded them and they removed it.

Someone had some other issue with the photo that we haven't figured out.

It's impossible to know for sure, so everyone is free to have their own CPN about it. For my part, I'm leaning toward 3, 4 or 5, possibly 6.

Edit: I just thought of another possible scenario.

1 = 4 could have been interpreted in a very negative way when you consider that in Chinese culture 4 is extremely unlucky, because in Chinese languages 4 is a homophone for 'death'. The first caption could accidentally be read in a very dark interpretation, or even just as attributing bad luck to the person labeled. Especially if a certain superstitious rabbit saw it.

EDIT 2: @goldrosh pointed out what is perhaps the likeliest reason why, which is because of the blatant branding logos in the photo. Weibo had that post locked down (unshareable) for hours because it featured brand promotions, and Weibo requires payment for posts like that to be shared, as they consider them advertising.

They likely didn't want to pay to have the logos visible because they weren't being paid to have the logos visible - as fan content that was posted just for fun (rather than contracted by the brand).

The post had two edits, one where the mirror photo was removed, and another edit where the logos on the striped beanies were blurred. At which point the post was free from restrictions. So that's definitely why they initially removed the post, in my opinion, although nothing explains why they didn't blur that mirror photo and put it back.

It's possible that they just forgot, or couldn't be bothered to, but people are free to continue to clown if they wish.

Just a reminder - all of this is CPN and should be taken with a grain of salt.

I saw a tweet that Gong Jun openly stated one time that he does kadian. Is it true? I wanna see that so badly hahahah

I seem to recall this actually... But I can't remember where or when lol. My folders are too BIG.

He did admit that he pays attention to their lld cp supertopic (ZZH called him out on it during happy camp). And they both know about the kadian for sure since it's used to advertise for their products I believe.

PSA about Kadian

Disclaimer: All fictional....yadada the usual drill

I want to make a post about kadian since a lot of people have been talking about it recently, trying to decide whether it’s real or fake. I want to offer the perspective of someone that speaks Chinese and goes on Weibo everyday so doesn’t need to rely on translation.

1) Kadian is a thing in general. If you don’t know already, the “kadian” I’m referring to is posting a social media post at a specific time so that the numbers can mean something. From the broadest perspective, kadian is real thing. A lot of companies like to kadian their spokesperson’s birthday (i.e. a chips commercial today just kadian 8:05 to represent WYB’s birthday). So people do take note of when they post Weibo.

2) Using numbers to represent words in Chinese is real. Chinese words have a lot of homonyms. So using numbers that sound like certain words to mean something is definitely a thing. The best example is that 520 is a couples holiday because 5 sounds like “wo = I”, 2 sounds like “ai = love” and 0 sounds like “ni = you” so it’s call the “I love you” holiday. 

3) WYB likes to kadian. This is also true. First, he said during ttxs that he likes to remember special date and time. Second, many of his post, especially recently in Weibo and Oasis ends with “21″ or “20″, which can sound like “ai ni” or “love you”. It’s too frequent to be a coincidence. So WYB does care about when he post Weibo. However, it doesn’t mean every Weibo he post has to be a kadian post. 

4) It’s really easy to come up with words that correspond to numbers. I think this is the main point I was trying to make. Since Chinese words have a lot of homonyms, it’s super easy to just come up with a word that makes sense to represent a number. For example, sometimes, the number 4 can sound like “death”, “time”, “wet”, “lion”, etc. There are also different intonation so basically every sound can have 50+ words with the same pronounciation. So when you see someone translating kadian numbers, just be very wary. 

The more generally accepted kadian words are:

1 = has 2 different pronunciation of the same number (yes, Chinese is weird). One is “yi = ni =you” and the other is “yao = want”. 

2 = er = ai = love

3 = san = zhan

4 = si = shi = life

5 = wu = wo = I 

7 = qi = wife 

8 = ba = bo =WYB

0 = ling = ni 

21 = er yi = ai ni = love you

20 = er ling = ai ni = love you

13 = yi san = yi sheng = whole life or yizhan (thank you @midnightsvoid for pointing it out)

23 = er san = ai zhan = love zhan

14 = yi si = yi shi = one life or whole life

17 = yi qi = together

18 = yi ba = yi bo = WYB

27 = er qi = ai qing/ ai qi = romance/wife

2018 = er ling yi ba = ai ni yi bo = love you WYB

1328 = yi san er ba = yi sheng ai bo = love you whole life WYB

1821 = yi ba er yi = yi bo ai ni = WYB loves you

But trust me, if you were to point a gun at my head and tell me to come up with a coherent sentence in Chinese from a string of any random numbers, I can probably do it. 

5) Be careful of looking at the hour time stamp. Weibo will show time depending on what time zone you’re in. Sometimes people forget and screenshot their own timezone so the hour is off. Make sure you go back and translate to the timezone that’s correct in China if the hour # is significant.

Also, there are 60 minutes in an hour. Unlike the minute, a significantly much shorter time and you really have to be deliberate, 1 hour is a very large window. Which also means there is a lot of room for Type 1 error aka false positives. Sometimes, 11pm at night (23 o’clock) is just when you’re about to go to bed and post something. 

Personally, I think both WYB and XZ does kadian and are pretty conscious about when they post something. But I don’t think every post is that way and not every post is bjyx-related. That being said, I’m not here to tell people how to interpret kadian. I just hope that this post can help people better understand kadian and what pitfalls to look out for.

re wyb’s kadian yesterday were they all on yibo official or were some on his uniq yibo account? i tend to think the yibo official account is run by someone else than him esp with his very busy schedule but idk what to think now tbh lmao wyb why are you like this

One of them was on his Uniq account and the other three on Yibo official. I think you may be right in saying that it's run by his team but why all of that??? Did he give them a timestamp list or something???? He must know that this is going on, right??? I don't know, my head hurts and I'm tired. Dd please give us a break😂💜
