Illario finally having someone other than Lucanis in his corner only to also realize Lucanis has also been there the whole time
Caterina realizing that not one but both of her grandsons are under Kagan’s spell now and silently plotting to get rid of him.
Kagan finding out and going to Lucanis to try and tell him without showing proof, only to end up with Lucanis not believing him because Caterina wouldn’t jeopardize Lucanis’s precarious position as First Talon since that’s what she’s wanted all along.
Kagan going to Illario as a last resort and his friend believing him despite being unable to do anything about it in his current position
Kagan disappearing on his LoF job (just as he and Illario knew he would) and Lucanis and Spite losing their shit.
Illario furious with Caterina as he slaps a grief stricken Lucanis with the truth-that Caterina planned the whole thing-before dragging his cousin on a Pirates of the Caribbean-esque batshit insane search mission with Kagan’s LoF friends in attempt to find him
The pair having no choice but to battle out years of resentment and mixed feelings toward each other telenovela style as they traverse Northern Thedas
Kagan being broken beyond repair when they find him and the Dellamortes having to get their shit together so they can be the rocks he can lean on as they try to help him recover.
