Okay, so I know I have. A year. To catch up on. But here’s a brief summary!

We moved! This is far and away what took up the most time. We’re still in Maine, but now have more land.

We became a family of six!

I got a small photo studio up and running!

I still have all my pictures, so I hope to catch you all up to date soon! I’ll probably pop in around the new year to start the laborious process of uploading our life to the blog.

I missed you all.

School Days!

It’s hard to believe, but the big girls started preschool and 1st grade right before Milo was born!

Thinking of Luna as an elementary grade student, and Ari as a full fledged preschooler...well, it’s a lot, ha ha! But both of them were very excited despite moving to a new school district.

Hana was less than thrilled.

“And what are these, Ari?”

“Chickens!!!”

Did I mention we raise chickens now? Six of them to be exact! In our effort to be more self-sustaining, Robin and I thought that egg farming would be a good way to get some more protein in the mix.

We let the girls name them, so we ended up with Silky, Henna, Belle, Cocoa, Peep, and...Pennsylvania. Can you guess which one Luna named?

Moriyama Review

Refacing the barn was the next major task we tackled! Well...the exterior, at least. The interior took much, much longer. This is about the time that I felt the house was safe enough to let the girls play in the yard - I was worried about nails and debris previously.

Opinions were split on the landscaping, but in the end I was able to convince the kids to go with hydrangeas again. Robin is quite fond of them. :)

The One True Garden

Don’t let this fool you - almost all of these plants were transplanted by the local nursery. But! I’ve kept them alive this long! That counts for something, right??

Hope everyone’s having a good post-Christmas daze! Catch up is still scheduled for the New Year, but here are the girls’ favorite gifts this year:

I got a telescope!!! Daddy, tell them about the telescope! (You can do it, Lulu.) Then I will! It’s a small one, because a big one is a million dollars. Or more! But mine is the right size. It’s about as tall as Hana? At least as tall! I watched the moon with it! Did you know that the moon has craters?? I learned that in a book! Meteors smashed it! But there are more smashes on the other side. I know a LOT about the moon.

I got a marker train! Um, you draw a line, and the train goes ‘round. Daddy drew a big heart track, but it’s not good. Mommy drew a better one. (Well excuuuuse me, princess. That’s what I get for being cute.)

I sing! Wif dis! (Please imagine Hana enthusiastically waving a plastic microphone. We got a karaoke machine.)

Milo, for his part, seemed most excited by the wrapping paper. :)
