Okay, so Rydell was beginning to regret agreeing to go on the date with each passing second. Work had been fine, of course. She was accustomed to her job and nothing about it ever bothered her or made her feel weary. But mentally prepping herself for what she had a sinking suspicion could be a long and frustrating night. Surprisingly it wasn’t because of Kai necessarily. He could be completely frustrating but truthfully she knew him well enough to know what he was like. She was accustomed to him; she was sure how to deal with him. She could get through a night without even really getting mad at him which was saying something since she had a habit of getting mad at most people.
It was mostly because she didn’t know anything about what being on a date was like; it was because she wasn’t sure things would go even remotely well. How could they when sometimes it seemed difficult to even speak to people? And since she had absolutely no experience when it came to dating? Oh boy did she have no idea what to do. Or what would happen. And if there was anything she hated more than anything it was not knowing what to expect out of life. She liked knowing what to do, how to react.
Okay, so she was probably pretty anxious if she was being honest with herself though it wasn’t anything that she would have admitted out loud. Anxiety wasn’t a feeling she was accustomed to and she hated to think that it could possibly come from Kai who she had never felt anxious near at all. She shift in their dynamic was unsettling and almost made her pick up her phone and shoot a text to Kai to let him know not to come. Except she stopped herself from doing so and instead simply stayed on her couch. Would she end up regretting that? Only time would tell. @malachai-dragoumis
