Dedicado a Shivá, el dios destructor del hinduismo, el templo de Kailash es uno de los 34 templos y monasterios excavados en los acantilados de basalto de Ellora, India.

Excavados en los muros de roca, se pueden encontrar los 34 templos cincelados entre los siglos VII y XI. Los diversos santuarios están consagrados a tres religiones diferentes, la budista, la hinduista y la jainista, todos ellos próximos entre sí.
