Ummm yeah, that Kai Parker and Ethel Cain combo was something I didn’t think i needed, and now I’m afraid I need more.
kaithel core is something everyone needs, i understand. he’s so very ethel cain coded, strangers, sun bleached flies, and family into specifically.
strangers—"if i'm turning in your stomach and i'm making you feel sick (sick)"—kai’s existence is corrosive. its the ache in your gut after swallowing something you shouldn’t, like glass, like blood. his existence burrows deep under your skin, uncomfortable and wrong, a splinter you can’t dig out. he is aware of the sickness he brings—he likes it. he revels in the way his presence unsettles, because being hated feels closer to love than being forgotten.
sun bleached flies—"god loves you, but not enough to save you" the lyric resonates with his rejection by his family and the universe. he was never "enough" for his coven, which fueled his descent into madness.(cough,cough killing)
