Are there any characters from the comic reboot you like?

To be honest, I stopped regularly reading the comic after the Super Genesis Wave... it kind of coincided with me falling out of fandom for a while anyway and selling my entire collection of Sonic merch, including about 400 physical Archie Sonic comics (main series and spin-offs) that I’d collected over the years. And then I never really got myself back into the comics after that, even though I came back to other facets of the Sonic fandom eventually.

Having said that, what I’ve seen of the reboot doesn’t look bad at all. It looks like the characters are being treated more consistently and, as a result, are better written into the stories they’re given. I’m not sure how much of that is due to SEGA’s mandates and how much is just the effects of such a large shake-up, but I’m glad that the characterisation seems better on the whole. Also glad that Sonic/Sally isn’t a thing any more. I never hated the ship, but it was so drama-heavy in the comic it really put me off both Sonic and Sally as characters (amongst other reasons). I also really like that Nicole seems to be getting some post-reboot love. Her new design is subtly different but she’s still very pretty. I liked that Ian Flynn was toying with the idea of Nicole and Sally romantically; that’s definitely an aesthetically cute couple and works well with their intellects/personalities too.

Beyond that, again, I haven’t really read much. Just odds and ends. I’ll probably read the entire rebooted series eventually, though, because I don’t really have a good reason to keep putting it off, and I’m probably missing out on some good stuff!

(Any suggestions on anything specific to look out for, good new characters, good/fun arcs, etc are appreciated!)
