Kale and Aaron
Kale
The blond's ears flicked slightly as he picked up Kara's quiet words, and he felt a little bit more doubt nestle in him at where, exactly, the girl came from. She had seemed normal enough, but as time went on, more and more things about her lead to Kale believing parts of her crazy story. She was insane, sure, but if she wasn't- well...It would certainly explain a lot of things.
Arching an eyebrow at Kara's fast-paced words, Kale settled himself into one of the chairs, uncomfortable but refusing to show it as he sat in the soft leather. "Whatever. We have to stay here, anyway." Resting his feet flat on the cold floors, and tapping his long nails against the edge of the chair distractedly, Kale watched the door to the room, not unlike a cat watching a mouse's hole. After a beat, he licked his lips and let his eyes flick to her, and then back to the door again, a flat curiosity in his next words; "Why?"
Aaron
"Excuse me?" Aaron asked, looking completely scandalised and appalled by Maria's suggestion, and his head snapped back to stare at the other boy, torn from his thoughts. "What ever gave you rise to that notion?"
It wasn't as though Aaron hadn't considered the notion before, considering the differences in his time-spending in comparison to other people's, and it wasn't though it was a bigger deal than who he chose to spend his private life with, but when one's siblings were like Aaron's, it was hard to accept the notion that he would likely never enjoy spending copious amounts of time with people.
He needed to be able to spend time with people; he was the son of one of the most influential people in the whole Zone, for the Lord's sakes! Without an ability to interact with people, his business options were severely limited. And, while he didn't care what people thought about him, Aaron did still want to live a comfortable life, building things and experimenting. He simply couldn't afford to be introverted, and anyone that cultivated that rumour wouldn't exactly help his standings.
"Honestly," Aaron snorted, quickly turning away from Maria when he realised that what he'd done may've been considered an overreaction, and moving up the stairs towards his lab at a fast pace to avoid looking at Maria again, "I would appreciate you keeping your stupid theories to yourself, if this is going to be one of them."
