2025 Art Summary + Stats

I participated in a daily drawing challenge this year, so I've compiled some information and stats regarding what I ended up making!

Most Drawn Character / OC: Milo with 251 drawings! Simon was close behind with 243. My most drawn OC was Nile, I drew xem 7 times, though it's likely I drew xem a couple more times on paper somewhere.

Most Drawn Genre: Cartoons

Favorite Color Scheme: Pink and Yellow!

Favorite Piece: I've narrowed down the two I like most for Dan Vs. and Prozzäk respectively.

Experimental Pieces:

Most Unhinged Thing Done: The Yaoi Day Piece and these which were unposted until now LOL

Favorite Design: Furry CCW Milo!

Best Lineart: If I ever finish this it's sure to fuck

Best Use of Color: By nature of this being lineless, color is super important for it. Even though Milo is out of frame for this WIP, you can see the diverse palette at play here.

Most Popular Pieces: Nuke Radio Dan has 197 notes and Chris Burger has 152! My most popular Prozzäk piece is the yogurt video with 29 notes.

Number of Posts Containing Art: 127. Based on the number of posts in #owldosage, and doesn't count pieces individually per post. (and to be fair, a good chunk of Dan Vs. artworks are from last year!)

Art Goal: My goal was to simply draw more because I'd been in an art slump for the past couple of years. So mission success lol

Honorable Mentions or Other Things of Note: When I was making the rainbow showcase, it's actually a little unbelievable that I didn't have many options for red pieces. Red has always been a dominantly used color for me, and green tends to be a color I don't use often, which resulted in the half-baked Nile representation on the spectrum.

For a favorite design contender, I concepted some glam rock outfits for Simon and Milo, but because they're unposted and haven't been finalized, I can't really include them.

If because owl Dan never got finished you don't view it as a good contender for best lineart, I think the CCW Milo in Simon's Head piece is probably the strongest otherwise.

How I Felt About The Daily Drawing Challenge: I haven't drawn this consistently in years, which is why I joined in doing this. I'd have serious struggles in the past where I would give up from frustration with my execution, but I would rather make something bad than not make anything at all. My friends I did the challenge with, @l-sincline and @velelle, they participated in art fight, which I know contributed to the burn out they had with the challenge. I hadn't done that, and felt my art was getting more ambitious as time went on, getting increasingly experimental to always keep the experience fresh for myself. tldr; I ended up locking in more as time went on.

Oh yeah I totally had some wrist issues at one point, and have stretches I can do that help. They ended up disappearing at some point though, I think my wrist is overall stronger now from consistent use and stretches.

I did not succeed at doing a drawing once a day, as in November my cat had health issues pop up, and it took a toll on me where I couldn't find the motivation to draw for a couple of days as I was assisting her health. However, any days I missed had been compensated for with drawings, so I really do consider the drawing a day a success for myself, especially in comparison to how rough the past few years had been to me. You can even see how January is represented with an unfinished piece, that was extremely common for me to only make partial progress on something. Slowly I return to older things to finish or remake entirely!

For anyone unaware, most of what I post tends to be months old by the time it's posted. I have a massive backlog of Dan Vs. and Prozzäk art I have yet to post. Some Dan Vs. stuff is from 2024 still! I have almost 100 drafts again, and have a couple of priorities for what needs to get done or posted (like the Prozzäk MV Polls follow up post)! I would like to get back on my Dan Vs. posting grind, I think the drawing a day has become why I slowed down and got allergic to posting again unfortunately.

All that said and done, I guess a goal for myself next year is to post a bit more! Thanks for sticking around and checking out my stuff! B]

I was trying to not comment on the topic cause I'd rather not be a party pooper, but I'm kinda surprised by the general atmosphere happening right now. If you have been keeping up with danvsyou for the last year, which is how long I've personally been present for, all this 'news' surrounding the reboot is kind of... nothing new. And even before the past year it's been the same issues preventing the reboot from going anywhere. I'm not in the dan vs discord nor care to be there, so I'm not sure what other details are being spread around entirely, keep that in mind for what's publicly available to me from an outside view. Last year we were supposed to have the fundraiser, and then we were told rights issues were the main issue- which was just reaffirmed with the script update. When I heard that there was going to be news I was honestly expecting it to be the fundraiser itself.

Do not get me wrong, it has been super cool seeing the fan reception, which is why I've been hesitant to speak my mind. You all have much more faith than me. With that, seeing part of a script means nothing, especially with the additional information Mandel said (he doesn't even know what medium the continuation will end up being, which has been a repeated sentiment for years too). Maybe that's the point, to make a call to arms? Cause really too many are acting like this is confirmation of things moving along swimmingly and are setting themselves up for disappointment when we're in the same dead water it's been for ten years
