Hello!!

This week I’m working on my manga pile starting with the newest and final volume of Tokyo Ghoul: Re! It seems like a lot of my series are ending lately so this just adds to it all, and I’ve been very emotional about it all! With the citizens at risk of permanently being turned to ghouls, can Kaneki help them all?

I’m also getting further in Gemina I’m hoooooping to be able to finish it this week, next week at the latest. With the wormhole opening, everyone’s in more danger than ever and it’s up to Hanna, Nik, and Ella to help as many people survive as possible.

I have also officially “finished” xxxHolic with the Guide and the last two volumes of Rei. And it has left me.. heartbroken! I didn’t know the series was on hiatus and thought this was a finale. While knowing there will someday be more makes me very happy, I’ve been a CLAMP fan for a very long time and I know I’m only setting myself up for failure by hoping for a speedy release of the next volumes. BUT, the final volumes opened up the xxxHolic story a lot and we are starting to bring together some characters from xxxHolic in fuller and more fulfilling ways!

I got to read the next volume of Beastars! And to prove how late I am to the game, the next volume comes out in about 2 weeks! I’m particularly excited for the next volume since that picks up where the anime ends, and since I’m both reading and watching the series I’d love some new content! That being said this volume covers Haru’s kidnapping which is very exciting!

I also saw that Kalesbug released two thin Griefer Belt books, one artbook and one bonus story I had to jump and buy them! They got here a lot faster than I expected and read them right away! If you haven’t read Griefer Belt I HIGHLY recommend it! You can find it on Tapas, or Kalesbug posts here on Tumblr as well. (Though is memory serves, they’re mostly previews on Tumblr with a link to Tapas). The characters are super developed and hilarious, and the underlying plot is the perfect amount of serious to make a well rounded and balanced story!! Plus it’s LGBT which I always love!

I had forgotten to buy the newest volume of Kakegurui a while ago, so I’m late in reading this as well. There was very little Yumeko, but seeing Ririka and Mary against Rin and Ibara was so satisfying! I loved this volumes gamble for its intensity, simplicity, and how different it is from the others by not having Yumeko and having 3 random classmates of Mary’s there! Also this book brought another LGBT couple which I will ALWAYS be grateful for!

Finally, I finished the Sweet Blue Flowers series (see, so many series are ending! It makes me so sad!) and while it wasn’t the sugar sweet ending I was hoping for it had a good touch of realism with how Fumi and Akira have trouble accepting and acting on their feelings. The ending itself is very satisfying and the journey to end is of a different variety but still engaging and enjoyable!

My advice to anyone interested in making comics is to have fun. This might sound like mundane advice but you gotta make sure the reason you're making comics is for you and your own enjoyment first and foremost. Also try to keep a buffer for comic pages if you can. It'll make life easier!

Do you have recommendations for networking? Talk to people, comment on their stuff, engage with those around you and be present.

Do you have any final inspirational words or tips for your followers? DO IT, MAKE YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE
