Tonight, my heart is full because I got to bring home this old beauty. It’s filled to the brim because my difficult 1st born has adapted to her very well. People are worried because I do label Kali as being dog aggressive, but it’s a hell of a lot easier to say than try to explain why you can’t let your obnoxious dog jump all over mine in an environment where she’s already uncomfortable. Kali was, unfortunately, used for breeding, so after countless times of being mounted and suckled on by babies, she’s extremely worn out and doesn’t like dogs in her face. Who could blame her? My Kali, though, is such a fantastic dog. Every night when I come home, she launches herself into my stomach and claws me until I pet her. When I came home this evening, I came home with 15 year old Maya bundled up in my coat. Kali kept all feet on the floor and waited for me to set my supplies on the door so I could pet my head. She sat quietly by our legs as my parents looked Maya over and gave her pets. Then she followed me upstairs and laid on the floor with Maya a few feet from her and watched as I set the cage up. She even went upstairs mid evening and waited until I opened my bedroom door so we could go check on new buddy. Kali is a phenomenal dog. She’s adapts very well to the subtle changes within her home and adjusts as well as she can. That’s all I can ever ask for. So here’s to you baby girl! You’ve made so many strides within the two years I’ve had you. You’ve gone from trying to kill my cats to raising your own kitten and sharing your room with an old lady for how ever long she’s here. Thank you for being so good. #KaliPup #Maya #fosteringsaveslives #adoptdontshop #prouddogmom
