“Mph" A heavy sigh leaves the vice-commander's lips.
Truly, he finds you fascinating—not like admiring a magnificent animal in its natural habitat, but in the way one can't look away from a car crash.
You are sitting at one of the many windows of the Harusame. But this spot means something different to the pirates of the 7th division; they recognise it is their captain's favorite spot.
Nobody ever dared to correct you. The first time, it was because most of the yatos are sadists and rubbed their hands at the thought of their captain giving a lesson to the newbie human that accidentally got inside their ship. Later, because they all understood, even the ones with fog for brains, that their captain had a delirious crush for you. The kind that makes sure he doesn't kill you on the spot. The kind that doesn't make you train at all because he knows it's not your thing.
Also, because they fear that, if they told you to never sit there, Kamui could go for their head, and they know he wouldn't have pity for any of them, Abuto deduced.
There you sit, hunched over and eating something he recognizes as what should have been your lunch. Abuto clicks his tongue and rubs his tired eyes with a large, calloused hand, watching as you remain oblivious. He can’t decide what looks worse: the rumpled, mismatched clothes you wear or your exhausted expression, dark circles under your eyes betraying your endless studying nights. But at least you are eating something. As a brat to take care of, you are less bothersome than Kamui.
For now.
You look like a scared puppy while eating, even if you know no men in the crew would dare to touch or even hurt you. For being such a pathetic human, you were able to wrap them all around your little fingers.
But then all the hairs in the back of his neck stand straight; danger. Not the normal, natural in his life, kind of danger. The type that can pull out a heart with a single punch-
"You pig!" Ah, his senses are still excellent. The killing intent of brat number one still works on him even when the captain has no intent to end a life prematurely.
Now the scene in front of him looks way more charming, in a twisted way, as Kamui not only ate half of your food in a sec, but is also holding it out of your reach. You are trying to jump a bit, your heights being more or less the same, but his bandaged arm keeps you down and grounded on the floor and on his body.
Abuto clicks his tongue, the sound sharper than a whip. Who is that idiot trying to fool? It truly looks like a mating dance between an idiot who is begging to be noticed, and an equally stupid girl who barely knows the steps of the dance, and for sure can’t understand what is going on with the male in front of her.
And the hand on your lower back? In all the years Abuto has worked with Kamui, seeing him grow from a kid to a man, the word pity never crossed his mind.
Until now.
It's truly pitiful resorting to such childlike behaviour to be able to touch you.
There is a voice, very little and faint, in his mind telling him to help his captain out. It’s the first time he is interested in someone without wanting to fight them to death.
But. Abuto starts to think, the gears in his brain a bit rusty but working, for once, he won’t help his captain out. Years of finding himself in the worst situations, risking his and his men's lives over his captain's bloodlust...and more importantly, his captain never letting any of them enjoy their time with the women of Yoshiwara...he deserves to taste a bit of his own medicine.
“Gimme back my food-” Abuto hears you whine. Voice wet and desperate. The blonde yato doesn’t have the courage to look at Kamui’s face, probably basking in your desperation, ahoge swaying left and right like a dog's tail. “Okay, fine! Eat the little food I have-” Oh, you can be so dramatic when you want. “And thanks, Abuto, for your support! You are there laughing instead of helping me out!” You brush Kamui’s arm off your body, your warmth suddenly leaving the boy when you storm away to get into your room.
A cold shiver runs down Abuto’s spine. Oh, you little bastard. He feels the gelid gaze of Kamui on him.
Abuto was looking at a car crash, but he was actually sitting next to that idiot of his captain, not looking like a spectator.
He doesn’t have the courage to look at Kamui’s face, but there is no need for that. “Abuto.” He hears the man chirp. Bad sign. “If you have so much time to lose-” Damn, you truly fucked him. “Let’s spar, mh?” The baby blue eyes of his captain closed, the smile is full, but he knows better than anybody else that nothing funny will come from this.
Lesson learnt: never get invested into dumb lovebirds affairs
Summary: Three times Kamui tried to deal with his feelings, and one time he finally lets them out.

1. Can Constructs get heart attacks?
If Kamui could blow himself up with a self detonation switch installed in his frame from the dark market, he would press the button as hard as he can, right now.
You had just finished teaching him how to use a hoe, and no matter how hard he closes his eyes or looks at Jerome and Bernie whacking each other with bags of fertilizer only to be scolded by Luke to distract himself, he still feels your gloved hand on his waist, your voice tickling the side of his ears, you smiling, just for him, and oh my god, his heat circulation system is overloading. You excuse yourself to check out a nearby patch of land to start cultivating it, and now he is left frozen and stiff.
When did he start feeling like this? Was it when you first came to this broken-down eco dome, stared at him with the most heartbroken gaze he has ever seen in all his 19 years of living before turning into a construct, after hearing Asimov’s diagnosis about him? or was it when the butler robot gave you both keys to a master bedroom with one bed? He does not know, he does not know and he is absolutely mortified.
And when the rest of you get called in front of a storage place by the butler robot after finishing its request, he sees you smile at the rest of the refugees, and there's that aching feeling in his chest when he sees you flash that grin. Your smile carries that expression of exhaustion from 3 hours of manual labour, yet there are too many people around you, and he wants to run, run, run to your aid like a prince, but the soles of his feet are frozen in place, and he starts to blame it all on Asimov. There are a million excuses going through his mind as to why he does not want to move, but when you finally stop talking to the rest of the refugees and come near him, he’s all cool and collected once again.
When Jerome grins ear-to-ear after hearing his situation, he blurts out something about him being jealous. Jealous? him? He starts to feel flustered once again, telling Jerome to lay it off, and he leaves you trying to piece together what that little twerp meant by him being jealous.
2. Lets analyze our facts
It doesn’t take you that long to figure out what Jerome meant.
There is a mental checklist made in your head before you head to sleep that very day. You think back to what exactly you could have done to make the poor guy jealous, and you ultimately pinpoint it down. You’ve known the guy for years— he was like an honorary member for Gray Raven after all, always barging into your lounge, scaring Liv, leaving Lucia amused, and annoying Lee.
Your drowsiness drowns out any other memory call-backs from the past and before you drift to sleep, you remember one crucial point. He's the type of guy to treasure your smile like it's his first born.
‘Wait, wait, wait.’ you pause all the thoughts inside your head, analyzing everything, before bursting into laughter, and poor Kamui, who was only starting to cozy up beside you, is left absolutely bewildered. ‘Was he jealous because I was smiling and talking to other people other than him?’
3. Yeah, they definitely can.
When you open your eyes, you are greeted with the sight of Kamui stretching his newly built frame. Your eyes linger at the sun seeping into your shared master bedroom, framing his face in such a beautiful manner. He stretches his back and finally looks at you, and wow, you sure hope you don't have any bedhead right now.
“G’morning,’ you say, yawning and pushing down the comfortable blanket that had survived years in pristine condition. “Looks like your up early.”
Kamui smiles enthusiastically, which is uncharacteristically strange, a clear contrast to how he was acting during the few weeks you were at this eco-dome. It doesn’t take three centuries for you to realize that something had probably happened in that master control room both of you had urgently ran to after the eco-dome lost power when a strong thunderstorm hit. You know this guy. He knows you. And you know that— that smile is a sign that Kamui is back.
“Yup!” Kamui speaks up, positively giddy. “I woke up early and decided to stretch. Did ya sleep well, commandant?”
“It was adequate.” you say, waving your hand around, trying to imitate Vanessa in your F.O.S college days when someone asks her if the food inside the cafeteria was good enough to line up early for, and kamui practically has to stop himself from bursting into laughter out loud.
“Since when did you get so fancy-shmancy, commandant?”
You get up and stretch as well, before standing beside him, shoulder to shoulder, all the while reaching out to pull at his cheeks. “I don’t know,” you chuckle, before pulling harder. “Maybe. It was. Because of all the times. I. talked. to. Chrome.”
Kamui laughs loudly, a sound that’s like pure melody to your ears, something that rivals Selena’s voice— that rivals Watanabe’s guitar playing, before he exaggerates his movements and mumbles something about “Ow, ow, ow, comm-an-dant! You're pulling tew hard! Let mway cheeks go— oh, hab mercy!” and you find yourself laughing out loud as well, and it makes you indulge yourself more and more in this domestic fantasy that the two of you had built together with the help of that butler robot.
X. Something in between the boundaries of being “special” and being “love”
When the both of you finish your heartfelt talk on the top of the rooftop, the banquet is still in full swing. Kamui takes the initiative to excuse the both of you so that you can return back to your room to rest, and he tries his best to ignore Luke’s smug face before the both of you eventually retreat back to your quarters you’ve spent the past few 5 days in.
F.O.S college teaches commandants not to get too attached to one place. The punishing virus can take something easily, even if you’ve spent decades with it. But when you figure out that the both of you are leaving back tomorrow, and it's back to Babylonia, you can’t help but feel disappointed, and it's clear that Kamui does as well. When the both of you return back to your master bedroom, you practically collapse on the soft-cushiony bed, and it feels so right for you to sleep on the spot, but you are the Gray raven commandant, and it would take more than sleep to overcome you.
There's a tinge of silence between the two of you, and after Kamui sits on the side of the bed as well, you meet his eyes, and in it, you see the same expression Kamui always wears whenever he looks at something he really, really, really wants.
You burst out laughing out loud.
Kamui is left half confused, half bewildered.
“Jeez, you're laughing out of nowhere for no reason again, Commandant!” he grins like he’s the sun reincarnated, and moves his frame closer to you.
“Sorry, sorry,” you splurge, before speaking once again. “I just figured out something important.”
Kamui tilts his head. You tilt yours back in response. He pouts.
“What did you figure out?” He asks, bringing your face closer to his. “Come on, come on, commandant, tell me!”
The both of you bicker, and it ends up with Kamui on top of you, his eyes staring at you with a mixture of ‘Oh my god,’ and a tinge of ‘Captain is gonna kill me.’
You smile, because frankly, that is the only thing you’ve ever known how to do when Kamui is around, and you reach out your arms to cup his cheeks.
“I just figured out,” you breathe out, and he feels all the feelings inside his chest flutter out the window. “That you’re quite a lover boy yourself.”
OKAY HEAR ME OUT-
Kamui and Okita in a love triangle over reader, who honestly would probably just go for Gintoki or Hijikata instead (older men 👍)
I dunno I think its funny to have them glaring daggers at each other in the foreground while reader is just scrambling after Gintoki like "wait up I have strawberry parfait!!"

SOOO HAPPY TO SEE SOMEONE FROM THIS FANDOM! 😭I didn't know who you'd like better, so I'll do a ver. of both <3
Kamui and Sougo were...screwed, to say the least. Never had they imagined they'd fall for such a goddamn difficult target to achieve. Sougo, being Sougo, was sure he'd win you over one day or another. While Kamui, being Kamui, he was never the one to back down. Sougo knew Kamui liked you too, and Kamui knew about Sougo's growing fascination for you too. So it was really natural for them to be sworn rivals, as if they weren't that already. Kamui's bickering never stopped, "I'm literally the better choice, a Yato. Why'd (Y/n) go for a mere weak human like you?" To be met with, "Well, maybe because (Y/n)'s a human too, makes no sense for her to go for a freak like you." Sougo would very happily dice down that damn Kamui to pieces if it means having you. While Kamui would shoot holes in Sougo's body until he becomes a tea strainer, without batting an eye if it meant you'd give him more attention. Kamui would glare at Sougo so passively, with that silly grin of his, which to you, was sweet, sure, but to Sougo? That was a damn warning sign to back off. But no, Kamui would be met with an equally shady glare from Sougo that bore holes into his soul, conveying the same message. While you? You were in your little dreamland, internally gushing about someone that to their shock, was neither one of them. Little did they know, the actual person they should've been wary from the start, wasn't each other. But rather...a man. A man they wouldn't even turn their head to look at, a man who looked like he passes the same street at the same time, every Wednesday. How could they have expected that?
• 𝐒𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐆𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐤𝐢
No way in hell would Sougo and Kamui ever imagine that someone like him, would have caught your eye. What was even likeable about him? Nothing, in Sougo's eyes. He was broke, a potential alcoholic even, a sugar addict, reckless, irresponsible, he shouldn't even be considered an adult, according to Sougo. And to Kamui? Kamui was already preparing his umbrella, getting blades and everything, because if he had to fight, he would. Kamui did not give two shits about anything other than becoming strong, eating a hellishly ungodly, ridiculous amount of food, and you, apparently. So he definitely took interest in Gintoki. Sougo's tactics were..to subtly disrespect Gintoki infront of you, or..knock some sense into you. According to him. "You sure about him? Like..he seems a bit oblivious, utterly reckless. He looks like he's been skipping rent for God knows how long." He isn't technically wrong, but you'd defend Gintoki of course. "Wdym? He's perfectly fine. His obliviousness is adorable. I like him as he is. Rent? Maybe I could pay some for him." And he'd just groan, shake his head. But, he was nowhere near giving up. Surely, he'd come up with something each day. Meanwhile, Kamui's way to try to win you over, was a daily display of his strength, of his superiority. He'd casually lift random boulders, that weren't even in your way. "Can he do that?" "Who? Do what?" And he'd already be grinning like an idiot as if he just won. Sure, he'd throw some not so subtle shade at Gintoki, but as usual, you'd be quick to defend him. "Really? I think he's pretty lousy. Munching on sweets all the time. Is he even strong?" "You do that too. Except you munch on everything. And yes. He is strong." Kamui will not back down. Would probably go so far as to ask Abuto for suggestions, but Abuto can't help him either. He'd be consistently after Gintoki, while you'd be busy making the sweetest Parfait for Gintoki. "Gin! Please have this." "Strawberry Parfait?! You're the best." Is really all you wanna hear, casting those two aside. Overall, Kamui would be more interfering here. But none of them would back down, not just yet.
• 𝐇𝐢𝐣𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐓𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐨
Now that, is a personal offense to Okita Sougo including Kamui. When you disclose that you are much more interested in Hijikata, you would be met with the biggest visible eye-twitch from Sougo and a rather judgemental look from Kamui. "Tell me you're kidding." Sougo would say in an uncharacteristically calm tone, even for him, to be met with a calmer, "Does it look like I am?" you say, Kamui follows shortly after his brain stops circuiting, "Really? Him? You have gotten to see something I don't." Similar to the previous sc, Sougo makes it his personal mission to degrade Hijikata as much as possible, as if Hijikata offended his bloodline. "Really?! That tax-freak?! That chainsmoker?! That Mayo-obsessed maniac over me?! Emotionally constipated NPC?!" To you, it's all useless. "Yeah. So what? That's his job as the Vice-Commander. And I'd gladly buy him Mayo all the time. And idc about the cigs. Hot." A gasp, a sharp, pointy look like he's rethinking life decisions. "Hot?! You're messed up. All he knows is being a stoic or aggressive workaholic." He's trying too hard. On the other hand, Kamui would be emotionally deterred, rather, confused. "What do you even see in him? He's older than all of us. Why him?" To be met with a smirk, and a "He's mature. And older guys? Hot. He gives off the vibes, yk. Cool, calm, authoritative aura." He's baffled on why you'd pick a vice-commander like Hijikata over him. "So if I grow older and ask you-" he's quick to be cut off, "No. We'd still be the same age." And he's never felt so powerless before. Sougo would always be in your peripheral vision whenever you were spending time with Hijikata. Creep. He would never back down, especially after literally declaring himself better than Hijikata. His attempts to kill Hijikata would now grow more serious and more frequent. But you? You're happily dunking a bottle of mayo over rice and giving it to him. "Ah! You're too kind." With that faint smile of his? That's your motivation. And for those two? They can't help it. Kamui would be after your brain and Sougo would be after Hijikata's life. Overall, Sougo would be personally offended for life, and would be more interfering in this case. But as obvious, none of them care enough to give up. "Mine." "No. Mine." "Neither's." "Ouch".
Too long, I was just a little overjoyed to see a Gintama rec 🫣
You were already in bed when he came back. He slipped his arm around your waist to pull you against him. The night was calm, a relief after the sprint that had been the day. He breathed deeply before placing his lips against the back of your neck.
Imagine waiting months for that one long holiday, finally youre able to go back home to your family...only to be kidnapped by doa on the day of your departure...how unfortunate
yandere content, kidnapping
manga spoilers about doa + kamui's identity. featuring all 5 doa members. there's a 'route' for each character. unedited, and much longer than i expected.
the least they could have done was be a little gentler going about it.
but of course, you had to suffer through being wrapped up into a coat and tossed into a portal like you were simply a bag of flesh and bone. the humiliation of needing someone to help you in your disorientated state once you tumbled out somewhere else and the nonchalant attitude of your kidnappers only made you more angrier.
any escape attempts didn't get you far; though the windows weren't barred, one look outside the huge ones behind sigma's desk told you all you needed to know—you were suspended mid-air, and it didn't help that there were armed guards constantly surveilling the building, and cameras in every corner. (and, you wouldn't admit it, but your kidnappers really frightened you. they were all ability users, and more importantly, all completely insane).
after multiple failed attempts at sneaking out through the door or hiding between customer's bags, threatening a guard to escort you out and even trying to hijack one of the cars, you decide to change up your methods. maybe instead of running away now, you could try and exploit your kidnappers and leave when they're finally trusting of you...?
CHOICE #1: SIGMA
you don't like any of your kidnappers, but the only one you could stand was sigma, who was probably the most 'normal' out of them. though you mostly came to that conclusion because he had yet to threaten you for trying to run, his lack of an offensive ability, too, was a huge factor in it.
and sigma was...kinder, in a way, easier to dissect and play into the arms of. you didn't have to say anything to keep him from using his ability on you, in fact, he confessed to you that he feared his ability would make you trust him less, and so he held back from touching you altogether. despite it being a non-offensive type ability, if he used it on you, he'd have immediately found out about your plans, so it was for the best.
it's not as hard to pretend to like sigma, because you found him sort of endearing. it's not difficult to let out a few chuckles when he comes running over to you with a book about jokes that nikolai was reading, trying to make you laugh with them. it comes almost naturally when you sit beside him into the late hours of the night, watching him do his managerial duties and study his customers, and you almost forget you're supposed to be using him. it's easier than you'd expect to confide in him your fears of fyodor and the jerk who threw you into his coat, admitting to him that you can't bring it in yourself to be around without being filled with a sense of fear. he reciprocates it all greatly, wrapping an arm around you (and by now, you realize, he doesn't even consider using his ability on you anymore. if there's anything he wants to know, mundane things like what you like to eat and how you like your coffee, he just observes you and finds out himself, or asks you) when you're drowning in your own sorrows, teaching you card tricks in his spare time and bringing you presents that he thought you'd like; little snow globes and records that remind him of you, things of that sort.
you have to remind yourself that your kindness is an act and not genuine. after all, this man was part of the group that brought you here to satisfy their own sick desires. sometimes though, you find yourself hoping that sigma wasn't as bad, that he would understand your feelings.
clearly, he doesn't.
"i can't believe you," his voice comes out as a choked whisper, his eyes fixated on your cornered figure, "you were going to leave?!"
sigma's back was to the door, effectively blocking your escape route. he was trembling all over, clearly overwhelmed and crestfallen by everything that had just taken place. you had tried to sneak away while on a shopping trip with sigma, only the second time that you were allowed to go out, but he had caught on pretty quickly, and now you were trapped.
"let me go," you plead, hoping to appeal to his sympathetic side, "please, sigma."
he shakes his head, still glued to the door, "no. i can't. you can't leave me."
"out of everyone else, i hoped you would understand. i thought you knew how i felt, trapped with dostoevsky."
sigma's eyes widen, confusion clear on his face before he exhales sharply and straightens himself out, seemingly deciding on something, "i'm sorry, [name], but i won't let you go. this is the only way i can have you."
"you're so cruel," he whispers, watching your devastated expression, "why did you make me believe you loved me?"
CHOICE #2: KAMUI
the hooded figure of kamui never failed to invoke a sudden sense of eeriness he made an appearance.
he didn't come by very often, but whenever he did, fukuchi always took a moment to come check up on you. at least when he's not donning his mask and cloak, he looks a lot less...frightening. you're not sure if he has anything to do with your kidnapping, because his interest in you rarely went past a curious glance and the occasional, hearty laugh when he comes across you shrieking at nikolai's attempts to drag you away from the open door.
you're not sure to make of him, with his fake public persona and his involvement with the doa, but he isn't as much of a threat to you as the rest, at least not directly. at the very least, when he comes over, nikolai is so much on edge that he doesn't try to torment you as much as he usually does.
fukuchi regards you as something to serve as entertainment; dostoevsky's newest toy, as you hear him say in passing. he watches you like you're something novel, like he hasn't figured you out yet. since he wasn't as involved as the others inside the casino, you thought he would be your best option to try and exploit.
your attempt at getting to know him starts by offering small greetings.
"captain," you say, waving at him as he walks into your room, where sigma is asleep on your shoulder.
he observes the two of you with an oddly soft look in his eyes, a stark contrast to his usual hardened gaze that stays even with a large smile on his face. then, he nods at you before walking away, gently closing the door behind him.
you try to open up around him more, even if it's not through conversing directly with him. even though you know he's watching you from the corner when nikolai is trying to coax you out of your new hiding spot with little treats, you don't shy away as you usually would. you loudly proclaim to nikolai that you'd only come out when fyodor stops being so mean, which is received with a exuberant laugh from the older man. huh, was that all it would take?
and it works, oddly enough—fukuchi starts asking about you, whenever he sees you after that, in between hushed conversations with fyodor, ("and how are you, [name]? is dostoevsky still being mean to you?" you force yourself to ignore fyodor's pointed glare and instead offer a meek smile). he makes more conversation, and you quickly realize he likes your honest comments, even if it was all just criticizing his subordinates. you think he must find you amusing, like a spiteful pet that doesn't give up an opportunity to attack, especially when he places a large hand on your head to stroke your hair, unexpectedly tender despite his ruthless exterior.
"why do you keep trying to run?" he asks you one day, after nikolai had dropped your bound figure back into the room.
you huff, "what do you mean, why? why would anyone want to stay here? any longer and i might go insane."
"oh? that isn't good," he smiles, but it's not the warm ones he gives you. this was...unnerving, "dostoevsky will have no use for you then."
your eyes light up, immediately considering a new plan to have fyodor throw you out himself, but you're interrupted by fukuchi's low chuckle, a dark gleam in his eyes, "worry not! even if he doesn't want you anymore, i'll gladly keep you. if i had known that dostoevsky had picked up such a curious little thing, i would have taken you before he had...well, what do you say?"
CHOICE #3: BRAM
to be honest, you felt for bram.
in a way, he was living just as miserably as you, locked up in a coffin and taken out only when he's needed, and without most of his body. it must be awfully disorientating to be shaken about by the stake through him, and he's always looked so...unhappy.
you're not sure how much help he could be in your plan to escape, except maybe provide emotional support, but who's to say he wasn't a resentful old vampire who wanted you to stay and suffer with him?
you soon learn, through awkward, stilted conversation and silent periods that bram is...not really as angry or scornful as you thought. he is bitter, and extremely uninterested in most things, but as long as you listen to his stories and provide your wholehearted support, he's surprisingly kind to you.
he doesn't even bother trying to offer any hope of escape, though. he tells you that you, like him, should just go to sleep and wait for the others to decide what they'll do with you. he reminds you that there's no escape from a heavily guarded, heavily surveilled casino suspended in the sky, and there's no escape from dostoevsky's cunning words or kamui's wicked plans. you're stuck here, just like him, left to lament the past.
when you suggest him using his ability on you, hoping that by being turned into a vampire under bram's control, he could find a way for you to escape, he looks horrified by the very thought. ("it's too much work for me now," he remarks, looking visibly irked, "to be turning humans. besides, what kind of foolish plan is that? and right after i informed you that i myself am not aware of the casino's layout.")
at least you have a friend here, even if he's constantly discouraging your escape attempts and convincing you to accept your fate. life would be terribly bleak if you were entirely alone.
CHOICE #4: NIKOLAI
out of the five, you hate nikolai the most.
your increased anger towards him stemmed from him being the one to actually kidnap you, as well as his daily attempts to get you to 'open up', which included him dragging you out of your room and annoying you incessantly until your patience snaps, relishing in your furious expressions. the most infuriating part of it all is that nikolai was never put off by your silent rage or your clear disdain, instead finding it all great fun. he thinks your frustrated words and attempts at hiding away should serve as his entertainment. nikolai laughs when you try to run, and he's always the one that whisks you back into the casino, no matter how far you've gotten. he never stops your escapes, though, almost as though he knows you'll end up back here, like he knows he'll catch up with you in the end.
but he's also unpredictable; for as much as he claims to love his job, he also tells you he hates it, and for every word of praise he has for fyodor and sigma, there are just as many potential murder plots. he's near impossible to read, but you think that maybe, he won't kill you unless you start boring him.
so if your escape served as entertainment for him, wouldn't he be more receptive about helping you?
you start off by seeking some civil conversation with him, but it's not working very well. nikolai tends to send any casual conversation spiraling into...odd directions, half of which you can't understand at all. and you almost start to feel like he doesn't want you to get to know him...still, you've got nothing else to lose now, so you keep it up. you entertain his ideas and go along with his pranks (even if it earns you an exhausted glance from sigma and thinly veiled anger from bram), you read the books he reads and watch the things he does at a mostly useless attempt to figure out his angle, and you even put in more effort in your escape plots, just so he doesn't get bored of you. but it's all in vain, however, because nikolai isn't someone you can just figure out. he's someone you're not sure you can even come close to understanding, let alone manipulating.
in the end, you decide the best approach is being forward with him.
"are you really asking me to make a deal for your life?" nikolai throws his head back in laughter, "this is why i like you! i was worried you were starting to lose your spark."
"i suppose we could come to an agreement" you should have known, really, that nothing good was going to come out of this when you caught sight of the malicious grin on his face and the wicked glint in his uncovered eye, "how about a game?"
"a game?" you don't bother hiding the skepticism in your tone.
"it's very simple! i'll give you an hour to leave the casino. all you have to do is step out of the building entrance, and i'll let you free. in fact, i'll even make sure that none of the others come after you after your victory!"
"but if you fail," his grin widens, "then you'll be leaving your fate in my hands."
the vague threat, combined with his unsettling expression fills you with a overwhelming fear. as if noticing this, he laughs. but now that you've put the idea in his head, you're not sure if he'll ever let it go.
"don't worry! either way, i'm sure we'll be having lots of fun!"
CHOICE #5: FYODOR
something was terribly off with the way fyodor looked at you.
despite the gentle smile on his face and the lovely way he said your name, all soft and gentle, there was an oddly distant look in his eyes. he observed you closely and made conversation—revolving around surprisingly mundane questions like have you read this book and what do you think of this movie, and are you familiar with this dish and this composer? and his tone is curious, a charming turn of his lips accompanying his careful probing, making for quite the lovely picture. but there was something meticulously crafted about it, almost like his words were practised and his reactions stilted. there was nothing genuine about the fond smiles or the barely-there touches. you wondered if perhaps, he was waiting for you to do something.
but you have to admit, you'll take the dread creeping over your shoulder over the blatant terror you're faced with when you talk to kamui, or nikolai. apart from his unsettling exterior, fyodor makes for decent company. he's quiet, but not the awkward silence that envelopes you when sigma runs out of things to say, and his questions never feel too invasive. he has a certain charm about him, you think, that makes him somewhat likeable, despite you knowing that he actively plays a part in whatever evil the doa performed.
these days, you spend more time with him. you find that the books he gives you are interesting, although not your usual taste, and that you look forward to seeing what he would lend you next. and the more you're around him, the more curious you get. why was he so...detached from you? why did he feel so disinterested despite being the one to initiate conversation? you try to listen for any indication of interest, and you think you find a trace when sigma tells him about preparations being complete, or when nikolai brings in some papers. later, you hear the same change in tone when you ask him why you've been brought here.
"why?" he smiles at you, and it's as beautiful as it is frightening, "i thought you may be of use to me."
"am i? all i do is sit around and...wait for something to happen."
"patience, [name]. i'm sure you'll figure it out on your own, you're quite smart, aren't you?" though his smile is still on his face, the hint of condescension in his tone doesn't escape you. you don't expect anything else from him, anyway.
one day, after you manage to evade nikolai long enough to sneak off to the lobby of the casino, fyodor stops by your crouched figure in a corner, still upset after nikolai's threats.
the ever present smile is still there, "caught again?"
you sigh, and look away.
then, he leans in closer, until his cold lips brush against the tip of your ear, "you might want to try the staff exit next time, or explore for other exits. there are many ways to come in and out the casino." you shiver, but his words spark a new flame of resolve in you. you've never seen fyodor come in through the main entrance, and he leaves quite often. if you insisted on seeing him out next time, you might have a better chance at escaping...
he doesn't look the slightest bit surprised when you walk with him as he's leaving a few days after, only glancing at you as he slipped on his coat. sigma frowns at you from the corner of the room, but noticing fyodor beside you, he goes back to his papers immediately. it must be nice having such an effect on people.
he's silent throughout most the walk, but right before he leaves through a door you've never noticed before, fyodor spares a few words to you.
"stay back a while and explore the building. not too long—someone will worry—but you should be able to find something helpful."
how strange it is that you found an ally in fyodor, out of everyone else. a part of you is convinced he must be playing a cruel trick on you, but you're willing to take any chances that you can find. when you're back for breakfast, you're grinning to yourself as you recount the two exists you've found, one hidden below a winding staircase, and the other at the opposite side of where the five gather with you. both representing hope that you can make it out.
both ways were failures. nikolai's grip around your wrists is painful as he guides you back to your room, goading you by belittling your attempts. fyodor is already waiting there, skimming through your current read, lingering on the pages where you've scribbled down your thoughts (the idea courtesy of fyodor). he puts down the book to look at you as you're embarrassingly being ushered back to your cell. at least nikolai leaves after sharing a few words with the other man—the humiliation of him having to hear how you'd been mislead would have been too much to bear.
your weak glare does nothing to perturb him, "you knew it wouldn't work, right?"
"nikolai is very determined when it concerns keeping you," he says, "perhaps you underestimated him."
"i thought you were going to help me leave," you groan, "i'm so stupid."
"now, my dear," fyodor's amused smile sends shivers down your spine, "why would i ever do that? were you not aware that it was me who asked for nikolai to bring you here?"
"but you told me about the other exists—"
"only to keep you busy," he interrupts, "so you wouldn't do something rash in a desperate attempt to leave."
"i thought you didn't want me...like how they do." because fyodor has never shown interest in you, not like nikolai's constant need to be around you, or sigma's shy way of sitting next to you when he's off work, but perhaps it meant something different, because it was him.
"no," he says, "i don't need to want you like they do, because you are already mine," he leans in closer, a hand on your cheek, "you are mine before you are any of theirs, and you'll do well not to forget that."
Hi! How are you? May I please request a fic with Kamui where he gets caught sneaking around SWORD territory and badly beaten, the reader finds him and takes him to the Nameless City where she nurses him back to health? The theme is "be good to the crows, the crows will be good to you" because crows do remember faces and will give people who are nice to them random trinkets they find. In H&L, that could be saving her from some thugs or bringing her to live with one of them. No pressure, take your time! Thanks! ❤️
Crows never forget
a/n: Hello, it took too long for me to write sorry:( But it was really an amazing idea, there will be definitely a part2🫡 It is all fluffy and soft 😭 I hope you like it 🌸💕
Sorry for the grammer or spelling mistakes.English is not my main language so...
Thank you and love you 🥰
Warnings: mention of fights, blood, wounds but mostly fluffy
Dark streets had always scared the young girl. Even though she had been wandering the streets for years, she knew that the SWORD area was never safe. She was going to a nearby market to cook dinner for the kids. Even though she couldn't buy much, she wanted them to be able to eat warm meals on a cold winter day.
The weather was quite cold, she had to be quick. The moment she left the Nameless City, she had a bad feeling.
SWORD was pretty chaotic these days. She had to go back before anything happened to her.
She hadn't gone far, and as she walked down the quiet street, she saw someone fall to the ground in the narrow passage behind the containers. Even though she was undecided whether to check it out or not, she gave in to her curiosity and walked there slowly.
A masked boy, dressed in black and obviously around her age, was lying on the ground. Blood was flowing from his head and his face was injured. Even though she couldn't see his face because of his mask, she was sure she didn't know who he was.
"Hey! Are you okay?"
She asked worriedly and shook him gently. When she realized that the boy opened his eyes but could not move, she was not sure what to do.
Should she help him? Her brothers probably wouldn't like this. But she didn't want to leave him here injured.
She looked for a while to see if there was anyone around to help her. Noone was there. But the boy didn't look too heavy.
Kamui was watching the young girl with faint eyes. He should have stood up, he should have walked away from here immediately. But all his bones ached. He couldn't even move his finger. The young girl was calling out to him, but he didn't have the energy to answer.
Y/n crouched down in front of him and called out to Kamui
“Jump on my back, I will carry you.”
Kamui was looking at her in astonishment as if the young girl had just said the most ridiculous thing in the world. He never believed that this girl could carry him. But y/n was pretty confident.
“Hey, hurry up. We must leave here as soon as possible.”
Kamui knew he had no choice. Even though it hurt a lot, he sat up slightly and wrapped his arms around the young girl's neck.
He was heavy, the young boy was heavier than he looked. But y/n was determined. She would carry him to a safe place, albeit slowly.
***
Despite all the stares of the people around, Y/n brought the young boy to the Nameless City. Kamui knew that the young girl could be in a difficult situation. He had regained some of his strength. He gently touched y/n's shoulder
“You can put me down, you must be very tired.”
Y/n giggled.
“I'm not very weak. Don't worry, we're almost there."
Kamui was listening to the young girl with fascination. She was both strong and fearless. He was also feeling quite embarrassed.
Not much time had passed, when y/n walked the streets of the Nameless City for a while, her brothers blocked her path.
“Rude Boys” y/n stopped her steps when Kamui whispered in surprise. Of course, they couldn't pass through here without being seen by them.
Kamui slowly landed on the ground, but y/n immediately took his arm. The young boy looked pretty bad for standing.
“Y/n, who is this?”
When Takeshi approached the young girl and asked, Kamui shivered as he looked at the man in front of them. SWORD was much more than their little games.
“I don't know who he is” y/n replied calmly. “I found him injured on the street.”
Kamui looked at the young girl's answer. Yes, it was true, but was now the right time to be so honest?
Takeshi didn't react. He didn't want to shout at the young girl. Everyone loved y/n. He also loved the young girl very much. But he couldn't allow a stranger to enter the city.
“I can't allow this y/n, you have to leave him where you found him.”
“Hey, stop talking about him like he's a puppy.”
The young girl wanted to erase her brothers' seriousness by making a joke, but she wasn’t successful.
“Y/n, Im telling you for the last time-“
"Me too. I want to help him. He's just a boy around my age."
When the young girl raised her voice at Takeshi, P intervened. He was always more understanding.
“Y/n, you know the rules of the city. You don't even know who he is. I'm sorry, but we can't allow this."
Even though P spoke in a soft tone of voice, his authoritarian attitude was clear. Kamui didn't know what to do. He knew that he had really put the young girl in a difficult situation. But he didn't ask her for help.
As the argument between Y/n and the Rude Boys continued, a voice everyone recognized was heard. When Kamui looked at who the deep but sweet voice was coming from, he didn't expect to see the famous leader of the Rude Boys.
Of course he knew him. The famous Smoky. He knew he would do anything to protect his family. So he couldn't help but wonder what he would do to him right now.
“Y/n-chan… is he your friend?”
With Smoky's question, everyone turned to him. Y/n looked at the boy on her arm who couldn't even stand and smiled.
“Will you believe me if I say yes, Smoky-nii?”
Y/n was a sweet girl. She had never done anything to put her family at risk. She cared about everyone as much as Smoky. But Smoky knew she was still a kid. Of course she could make mistakes
“Y/n, I've known you almost since you were born. Of course, I know that when you want to lie, you start mocking.”
Y/n smiled but Smoky wasn't smiling.
“I'm sorry, I can't allow this.”
"Then I'll go with him too."
With the young girl's sentence, there was a deep silence. Smoky knew her well. He knew she could really do it. He didn't like the determined look in her eyes.
When Y/n looked into her brother's eyes, Smoky sighed even though Takeshi and P protested. He nodded and took a few steps closer to Y/n and Kamui
“Okay, but we won't take responsibility for him. Please don't disappoint me, kiddo.”
Y/n smiled and nodded. Even if she was making a mistake, she would figure it out before anyone else. But she still trusted the boy she had met half an hour ago.
***
After Smoky’s permission to the young girl, P did not want her to suffer any more and took Kamui on his back. After walking for a while, they entered the building where y/n was staying. After placing Kamui harshly on the bed, he gave the young boy a threatening look and turned to the young girl.
“One of the boys will also stay here for the night. If there is a problem, don't forget to call us.”
Y/n smiled and nodded at the soft-hearted boy.
“Thank you nii-chan, don't worry.”
P patted the young girl's head and took one last look at the boy who was watching them with weak eyes on the bed and left.
Y/n looked at the young boy after P left and smiled. The mask on his face was still there.
“I won't ask who you are.”
Kamui whispered.
"Thank you"
Y/n could tell from his voice that he was still in pain.
“I'll find something to clean your wounds. Don't go anywhere okay? Although I don't think you can go, but-"
Y/n giggled at what she said and left the room. She knew that there was a first aid kit in one of the old cabinets inside the building. She quickly started looking for it.
After a while, she returned to the room with the kit she found. But she noticed that the boy in the bed had already fallen asleep.
***
When Kamui woke up in the morning, he could feel his whole body aching. He was surprised to realize that the mask on his face was still there. He looked around and looked for the young girl, but the room was empty.
Even though it hurt, he stood up and looked at himself in the broken mirror on the wall. He had bruises and band-aids on his face. Someone had cleaned his wounds. When he pulled down his mask and looked at his face, he realized that the mask had never been removed and smiled.
Didn't she really wonder who he was?
He lay on the bed in the room and thought for a while. Should he go? But he wanted to thank the young girl. Were his friends worried about him? They would probably be very angry.
While he was lost in his thoughts, he did not notice the young girl entering the room. When he noticed the girl looking at him with a tray in her hand, he turned to her.
The young girl looked confused for a while, then smiled. Kamui was trying to understand what she was surprised about. Immediately afterwards, he realized that his mask was not on his face.
“Didn't you really take off my mask yesterday?”
Y/n laughed and shook her head.
“You were injured, I didn't want to take it out without your permission. This is SWORD, everyone has a valid reason to hide their personality.”
Kamui smiled, surprised by how thoughtful the young girl was.
“You must be hungry, I brought warm soup for you.”
Kamui looked at the tray in the girl's hand and slowly sat up in bed. His whole body still ached.
“Kamui, Kamui Ito.”
The young girl sat on the chair next to the bed and handed the tray to the boy. She smiled.
“Y/n, but you probably already know my name.”
Kamui laughed and shook his head. The smell of the soup on the tray made him realize how hungry he was.
“I… thank you. I will never forget what you truly did for me.”
Y/n smiled at the boy who shyly tried to thank her. The scars on his face were obvious, but he had a very sweet face. For a moment she realized that she had been staring at his face for too long and looked away. Kamui had done the same thing.
“I better go now, I don't want to cause you any more problems.”
Y/n laughed.
“If you are still tired, you can rest, but if you want to go, I can walk with you.”
Kamui laughed.
“I may look pretty weak, but I'm not bad at fighting.”
Y/n giggled and shook her head.
“I don't think Suzuran students are weak, I just wanted to say goodbye to you.”
Kamui was embarrassed by the sentence the young girl said sweetly, he even thought his cheeks were turning red. But then he realized what the young girl said.
“You… How do you know that I am from Suzuran?”
Y/n smiled and nodded.
“I hope you don't think you're the only one who knows something.”
Kamui frowned when he realized that the young girl was much more mysterious than she seemed, now he was even more curious about who she was. But he left that for later, he had to enjoy the short moment he could spend with her right now.
He took a spoonful of his soup and relaxed with the warmth entering his body. Y/n smiled as she watched him. He knew that the boy sitting in front of her was a very dangerous person, despite his innocent face. She didn't need to know him completely to know that. But she didn't want to think about that right now, she had to enjoy the little moment she could spend with him.

God, if there's a god out there, please answer, I've got something I really, really, really need your help with and I can't ask anyone else!
I...I have these feelings about someone...about a human. I don't think I'm supposed to have these feelings, especially as a construct, but I can't stop them anymore. I swear I've tried everything to make them stop, but nothing works!
Every time I see that human I keep wanting to do things to them, I can barely focus on anything but them. Oh, and don't get me started on what it's like when they're not around! I think about them, I dream about them, I watch them, I smell them...all I can think about is them and sometimes I wish...I wish it would stop, it's honestly starting to drive me insane, but at the same time...
I like it. They drive my M.I.N.D. crazy, but it's kinda- what's the word again? Capt said it once...Oh yeah! Intoxicating! It's intoxicating and if I could just...Please don't judge me for this, I know it's wrong, but if I could just take that human and put them somewhere only me and Camu know about...it would make me so happy. The thought of that makes my circuits tingle.
Ahh...I want them so much. I'm not sure what these feelings are called, or what that says about my relationship with them in human terms, but I'm sure they wouldn't mind them! They're really nice like that.
