i can't believe i started deeply pondering this upon getting this ask as if i didn't literally have this thing in my house
iconic prop. i love that it was simply a bottle being sold in stores and someone saw it and thought of it as good set dressing for an alien world. there is something beautiful about that.
however it is very hard to draw. the above sketch is not actually very good, the form is way off, the actual shape is narrower and has more space between the "snake coils", at least the one i have. now i'm looking at the other times i drawn it this is the mistake i keep on making. the thing is skinnier. it is difficult to break down this shape into simpler ones for me...
however. i decided to not try to get it right because it is exactly the type of a task that would drive me to madness.
