Portal, Goddess and Life
A world where magic and gods were legends or myths. A world where humanity was doing the best to survive. And sometimes, doing the best meant sacrifice the weak. Claire was a normal child but she lost her parents when she was little. She didn’t have anything left. The rest of the family didn’t want to take care of her, she was therefore sent in an orphanage. However, the other kids treated her badly and harassed her very often. One day, at the age of ten eight years old, she ran away and she got lost in the woods. She was hungry and upset. She was hidden when she heard some footsteps from a corner of a tree. A group of three people were there. She noticed they were not exactly human. The tallest of the trio made a movement with a hand and a red portal appeared in front of them. Hungry and curious, Claire followed them discretely. They entered the portal and with some hesitation, she did the same. She had the feeling she was falling for eternity. After long seconds, she finally arrived in a place she didn’t recognize. The landscape was red and warm. It felt good for Claire. It was during this moment of relief that the trio noticed her. They were not happy about it. The tallest member of the trio approached her and Claire was feeling uncomfortable and was shivering.
- A human child? What are you doing here?
Claire swallowed and kept shivering a bit.
- I saw you three in the forest and I followed you into the red circle thing.
Kapnos sighed and was about to take Claire’s arm so she could send her back there. When suddenly, a very tall and beautiful woman with blazy and gorgeous hair showed up next to the group.
- What’s going on here? You three were supposed to give me a report and…
The tall woman noticed Claire and Kapnos trying to hold Claire’s arm. The kid was frightened and upset.
- Kapnos, let her go now.
She spoked with a severe and serious voice, the demon obeyed right away and he freed Claire. The woman approached the kid slowly and she knelt carefully near Claire. She started to talk with a soft and maternal voice.
- Sshhh, that’s okay sweetie. What’s your name?
- C-Claire…
- That’s a cute name. My name is Cerys. How did you end up here?
Cerys smiled kindly and Claire felt better. She explained why she followed Kapnos and the two others.
- I understand sweetie but you need to go back there. Your family will be worried.
- I don’t have a family…my parents died a long time ago, I’m alone…
Cerys was sad for Claire inside.
- No relatives?
Claire did a no with a movement of her head. Cerys sighed and she held out her hands to Claire.
- Do you want to stay here? I can try to make this place a home for you. The decision is yours.
The child took several seconds to thin and then she smiled. She let Cerys hugged her and carried her.
- M-madam, you seriously can’t think of taking care of that human child!
She looked at Kapnos with a serious face.
- What? Have you got anything against me adopting her?
Kapnos swallowed.
- N-no madam.
- Good.
Cerys brought Claire into her castle where she would be able to begin a new life. Maybe Claire would find happiness here.
It’s kinda the continuation of my previous post XD so this is a story of how Claire got adopted by Cerys the goddess and queen of the demons XD I had fun writing this story ^^
