Lorenzo had never liked talking to monarchs. There was this boyish dislike of authority. This unwillingness to bow, though his family had never been the ruling one. They ruled Naples and that was where their power started and ended and despite Lorenzo`s personal dislike and personal opinions on how better Italy would be if they got rid of the {as he thought} what was the ancient system, he knew he was not the king. Yet, he had to overcome his pride and meet the Tsarina. A powerful and beautiful woman as many had called her. He could see even from afar that she looked like a sculpture carved in ice, blond, he assumed blue-eyed {because those two just go hand in hand together} and someone who led her company with steady hand and no-bullshit attitude. A woman like that probably could not allow her men see her weak, she was too beautiful for that, it surely took a lot to make a place for herself. Despite his discomfort, Lorenzo came to meet the another fighter. The two of them had to be allies. Their countries were fighting alongside Norway and their countries were fighting Norway in the guerrilla war of Resistance. They needed each other. ‘Your Majesty’ he bowed to the woman once he reached the proper distance between a gentleman and a lady. ‘I am glad to see you. I hope a good plan will come out of this meeting.’ What a gentle way to say that he hoped this would not be a waste of time. But he was a charmer after all.
