I love Karopez friendship!
One day at a time; @Dave
Santana was glad that Dave finally agreed to go to rehab. She knew he was going to hate it there, and probably be angry at Jesse for making him go, but eventually he would see that it was all for his own good. Every time she was about to give in and get along with Jesse, he went and said something stupid and made her dislike him even more. She got ready to go to the facility. Putting Abby in the car, she stopped by Kurt's. She had him meet her outside so Finn could watch the baby. Once she dropped her off, she made her way to the facility. She gave them Dave's name and sat in the visitor's room to wait for Dave to come out.

My attempt at writing fanfiction. AU. Contains Karopez, Brittana, and (if I continue it) eventual Kurtofsky.
Santana Lopez knew who she was. She was head bitch of this lame-ass town. She was awesome and hot and everyone knew it. When she was dating guys, they didn’t own her, she owned them (though Puck sometimes insisted otherwise.) Yeah, sometimes she got flack for being honest with people, but that was the way she was and that was that. She was going to tell someone when they looked fat in their dress, or when their dick was too small. Hey, in a world full of liars someone had to dish out the truth. Though Santana would admit she slept around, she would not call herself a slut. She took care of herself; she knew it was social suicide to get preggers anyway. Hey, look at Fabray. Though she did admit worrying was tiresome. She rationed that is why she slept with girls sometimes. Girls generally referred to only Brittany (unless it was a threesome or something). Brittany was her best friend, and had been for a while. She was dumb, but she didn’t piss her off in any way. It was somewhat endearing in a way. She knew Brittany was probably bisexual, and had made out with many girls. The latter was known by the school, but for some reason she never got crap for it. It surprised Santana a bit. She was more reserved about her sexual encounters with other girls. Yeah people still knew that it happened, but everyone just assumed that she and Brittany were doing it for attention. Sometimes it bothered her. She knew guys had a thing for girl-on-girl (she had made out with Brittany in front of enough guys to make this generalization), but she also knew the rampant homophobia in the school. Kurt got flack all the time for being gay. Santana would chalk it up to double standard, but she had a lingering feeling that a girl who only dated girls probably wouldn’t be greeted with open arms.
Though she wasn’t innocent. At times she would make a sarcastic joke or two in Kurt’s direction. It wasn’t as if she was a homophobe, it just spouted out of her mouth like most things. Sometimes if a girl looked at her in the locker room she’d glare and make a remark about it. It sometimes itched at her. She knew she was attracted to girls on some level. Her make-out sessions with Brittany proved this much. Yet she liked guys too. Sex with them was sometimes pleasant (if he was good), although she couldn’t really feel anything, afterwards. Although she was possessive of Puck as an object, he was more of a status symbol than anything. Any girl taking him away might cut her reputation down a little. That is why she was confrontational to Quinn and Mercedes.
Over the summer was when her bubble was popped. It was in August, and a very nice day. She had arranged to hang out with Brittany, and they went to breadstix to reunite before school started. She hadn’t seen her in a while so they began chatting about their summer and normal stuff. Brittany went on and on about trying to get Lord Tubbington a girlfriend and those kinds of things that went on in Brittany’s head. Santana couldn’t help but admire the girl. She lived in her own crazy bubble that seemed untouched by the harsher world around her. Santana was smarter in that she knew the square root of four wasn’t rainbows, but she kind of wanted to think that. Brittany was probably more free than her in a sense. Afterwards they went over to Santana’s place and began to fool around a little. They were, kissing softly and began rubbing against each other. Santana felt peaceful against Brittany; she felt like there was nothing wrong with the world. It was then when it struck. “Santana, you don’t have a boyfriend.” Brittany said, laying underneath Santana. “Well I… we have Puck.” She replied, a bit confused and taken aback.
“Well does he count? I mean, there are no emotions involved. I was watching movies the other day, and I was wondering about romance.” “I don’t do romance, Brittany. I have never “been in love” or whatever. It is silly and it gets in the way of things. Sex is easier without ties.” Santana was getting a bit annoyed now. She just wanted to relax. “Well I think that is kind of boring. Sex is nice and all, and it is fun to have the bragging rights to have made out with mostly everyone in the school, but everyone we know has dated people.” “Yeah well, who would you date? Mike Chang? Or did he hook up with Tina?”
“I don’t know, I know sex isn’t dating because you told me that, but do you think we can date?” Santana got up abruptly and harshly. She felt herself go rigid at the notion. A picture flashed into her brain, of her and Brittany strolling down the hall of McKinley linking arms then kissing each other. Then all she could picture is the strange looks from everyone around. “No way!” She exclaimed, unable to muster a more coherent response. “Well, why not? I like you!” “Because I’m not like that! I may make out with you but that is an entirely different thing from a relationship. Its not like I like you as more than a friend or anything!” Santana rapidly responded. “Whatever… “ Brittany looked a bit downtrodden and it stabbed a little at Santana.
“Could you please leave… I’ve actually got to do something important.” Santana thought up an excuse, “I need to go to sleep and save a kitten in my dreams.” That got Brittany’s sympathy and she said goodbye and left. Something was still stabbing at Santana and she was a bit scared.
So when school started up again, Santana and Brittany’s friendship wasn’t injured too much, but there was something new under their usual interaction. She decided it was all in her head and that the previous incident never happened. Santana began to sleep around a little more though, to counteract the strange thoughts in her brain. She targeted the football team because of their reputation. The problem was she had already slept with the cutest guys, and no way she was sleeping with the guys with the weird hair who were lucky to have gotten on the team. She decided that Dave Karofsky was a reasonable target, due to him being okay to look at and fairly popular. She couldn’t say she liked him much. He seemed annoying and immature for the most part, with his slushies and all. In her mind it was kind of a way of rebelling. She knew Brittany didn’t like him and thought he was a zombie, so it was sort of a revenge at her thoughts. Randomly, one day she saw him in the hallway with his friend (Azimio?) and decided to make her move. After all, he couldn’t refuse. “Hey Dave, I would like to speak with you,” she said then glanced to his friend, “in private.” She heard Azimio whisper, “get some” and gave a excited glance to his friend, and then Santana noticed Dave’s confused but somewhat pleased expression. She led him away to a quieter spot in the hallway.
“So, Santana, have you finally come around and asked me out?” He looked a bit cocky. Yet in spite of his tone his body was somewhat tense, as if he was slightly intimidated. “Yup, that is pretty much the case, David. Breadstix, 7:00, Friday. Be there.”
“Of course.”
Santana winked and walked away swaying her hips a little. That’s right, put on a show, she thought. She knew Dave hadn’t had much going on in the dating department. He seemed eternally single, which might’ve been partially responsible for his bullying. I mean, maybe he is sexually repressed or something, Santana figured.
On friday Santana and Dave met up as planned. Breadstix was jam packed with high school students at the time (thank God she got a reservation), including people from McKinley. No doubt Jacob would have the news about her and Dave posted by tonight. It gave Santana a ton of satisfaction that she could manipulate the high school like that.
“So, what’s up?” Dave asked awkwardly as they began to eat breadsticks. Santana just looked at him strangely. Didn’t he know that she preferred to eat in silence? Puck surely told everyone that. “Well, I mean, you kinda just asked me out and I never really thought you were into me before.” Dave continued. “Well I had a change of heart. I wondered what was behind the guy throwing the slushies. You know, I think there is more to you than that.” Santana emphasized the last bit. She was totally bullshitting this.
“Well, there is a lot more to me than that. I’m kind of a stud.” He grinned at her.
“Yup. I got that. Now can you be quiet, I needs to gets my breadsticks on. I don’t really talk on dates.” Dave shut up pretty quickly, and didn’t press the subject. The silence was a bit uncomfortable, but if they talked Santana would probably end up clobbering Dave over the head with her spaghetti (though this wasn’t a bad idea because she could say it was an accident and then get more without extra cost). During their very awkward date, Santana noticed Rachel and Finn enter the restaurant. She was going to be called out for this in Glee club, but she really couldn’t give a crap. They occasionally glanced at them from across the restaurant and then whispered to each other, looking a bit disgusted.
Once they were done Dave was obliged to pay for the food, and they left the "restaurant. They noticed the stares coming from McKinley high students, so Santana decided to put on a show and kissed Dave right in front of everyone, standing up. Dave was unresponsive and a bit shocked with Santana’s boldness. “Lets go back to my place.” She said in a suggestive tone, and grabbed his wrist and led him out of the restaurant. She noticed Finn’s horrified glance in their direction and nearly laughed out loud. Santana lead Dave up to her room. Her parents were out on a date, and they wouldn’t go into her room without permission anyway. He looked a bit out of place, but hell, it was probably his wet dream or something. “Nice room,” he said looking around. She grabbed his face and kissed him again, trying to get more of a response. He fumbled with his hands a little and settled them on her back, and kissed her back. He wasn’t bad, she thought, but very much inexperienced. He’ll thank me for this, even though I plan on this never happening again. “Lay down.” She instructed and he obliged. It was sort of like the time with Finn who was nearly equally awkward but a bit dorkier. She assumed Dave would be more aggressive and take more initiative. It made her feel powerful to know that the jerk jock wasn’t really all that. She hoisted herself on top of him and went back to making out with him. To be honest, she wasn’t turned on. It was just sort of fun at this point. Though if he didn’t start getting more into it, she was going to be a bit pissed. The guy was just lacking in passion, or something. Was it inexperience? She pulled away and looked at Dave in the eyes. He didn’t look turned on in any way.
“Uh, what in the world is wrong with you?” She glared at him.
“What do you mean? You kind of jumped me. I-I” He stuttered.
“Well, you aren’t really getting into this, at all. If I didn’t know better I would think that you weren’t even attracted to me at all.” Suddenly something began to click in her head. Oh, what if…
“Ugh why do chicks always throw fits about not being hot enough or whatever? You are sort of the hottest girl in school so…”
“So start acting like it! I know you’ve never had a girlfriend or whatever, but even Finn was more into me than you are.” Santana felt herself beginning to snap. She didn’t really know why, but this was really pissing her off. She wanted to get her mack on, but apparently it wasn’t going to happen.
“Yeah, I’m sorry. I’ve just never done this to be honest. Just teach me or something.”
“Fine, now kiss me like you mean it.” She pressed against his lips hard, and gently ground her body against his. He seemed to attempt to imitate Santana’s techniques, but it didn’t feel right. “You know what. Just close your eyes and pretend I’m someone else if you have to. I came here to get laid, not to have to help a jock with his lack of girlfriend issues.”
“I can’t do this.” Dave suddenly shifted from underneath her, slowly moving her off of him.
“What in the world are you talking about. What the fuck is wrong with you?” The words clearly hit something in Dave and he looked like she had punched him.
“Well I thought you cheerios complained that all guys want is sex. I’ve never been with anyone before. To be honest, I don’t really want this to be my first time.”
“Holy hell, I should have seen this coming.” Santana laughed a little and Dave looked a bit perplexed.
“Seen what coming?”
“I mean you kind of did protest too much.”
Now he looked a bit murderous, “Santana what the fuck are you…”
“So you are a closet case?” She looked at him, accusingly. He just stared back at her for a second, expression blank, then slammed his palm into the mattress suddenly and harshly. It made her relived in a way; he had been acting entirely different from usual all night, so at least he was still the same person.
“No freaking way. I’m not like that! Stop making shit up in your head you slut.” She might’ve been offended if it was some other guy, but it was too late. The way he reacted just confirmed her suspicions.
“Like hell you aren’t like that. You call everyone gay. Now that seems to be covering something up.”
“Well what about you, we all know how you make out with Brittany. Are you sleeping around to cover something up?” His voice was full of accusation, and horror. Yet, what he said struck a nerve in Santana. Yes, she did fool around with Brittany, but it didn’t mean anything. Sure she was cute, and she was Santana’s best friend, but it wasn’t if there was anything more there… right? After all she was attracted to guys. Then something in the back of her head screamed sure you are attracted to them, but have you ever really felt anything for them? Perhaps she and Dave were more similar than she thought. She couldn’t let him know that got to her though.
“You know what, that is entirely different. Let me just be honest, I do it for attention,” or at least I think I do, “and you push around people to make yourself feel better. “ She realized her voice was slightly hysterical, but she hoped he wouldn’t pick up on it.
“I’m out. Don’t you dare make crap up about me Lopez, or I will somehow find a way to make it backfire on you.” His threat was weak; he was desperate.
“Fine, but don’t think this is over.” Then Dave stormed out, looking completely shaken up.
[text]Hey, I'm not sure where you are right now, but I'm going to be heading out ... Apparently Jesse needs to talk to me about something ... So I'm taking the first plane out. I'm gonna miss you boo <3
[text]I'm sorry, babe. Finn and I went out for dinner. Um.. text me if you need anything, okay? <3
Guys...
I realized last episode we saw him Dave was all "I'm not gay" to Santana and "I'm not even sure that I am gay" later to Kurt. This was progress. Yet in Prom Queen Dave doesn't deny it when Kurt is talking about it with him. Perhaps he has admitted the fact to himself more than before! Dave is honestly developing a ton :) he is slowly coming to terms with himself.
AT FIRST I WAS LIKE:
BUT THEN I WAS LIKE:
I fucking loved this episode! Besides all the Kurtofsky and Faberry scenes/hints...
... I loved also the "little" things, like:
- Santana and Dave together XD (when they danced OMG! XD )
- Artie and Sue XD they crack me up!
- Brittany dancing with a girl a some point totally random XD
- Samcedes
- Find out that Jar of Hearts was for Finn and not for Jesse...
- Dancing Queen for two Prom Kings XD (Btw if Santana won Mercedes would have sing alone? Oo?)
The only things I really disliked has been:
- FINN
- Where the fuck were Tina and Mike most of the time?
- The fact that for five seconds I was hoping in an awkward dance between Kurt and Dave but there hadn't been! ç.ç But after all it's ok... Dave is doing so many progress lately :)
