Guys if this doesn't make sense, it is what it is. I'm hoping the abstract weirdness lends more to atmosphere than incoherence but I'm 5 minutes away from sleepy time, so you're lucky you got this much out of me. OOF, fuck you Monday.
You can find my masterlist here.
Please do not interact if you are not 18+.
Enjoy!
Memory was a novelty, as most things were now.
A remnant of human life. What was more human than memory, after all?
Animals remembered, but it was more instinctive; pain happened here, fear happened there, joy happened...somewhere else. Certainly, for the thing Eddie Munson became, joy happened somewhere else.
Not here. Never here.
But as he came upon a building full of flickering lights and static-filled television sets during his undead roaming of the Upside Down, humanity flickered to life deep in his chest. Memory flickered to life.
Because what was Family Video to him, if not a remnant of some distant, forgotten joy?
He forced his body through the door, hulking form scraping against the mis-shapen metal of the entryway. He hissed as his winged scraped against the metal, already-torn clothes ripping further.
Once the momentary sting of inconvenience had passed, he found that he couldn't care. Echoes of memory floated in the air about him, like the abundance of motes and particles. If he reached out a hand--claw...no, hand--they drifted further away, urging him to follow.
There was a loud, distorted chime as he crossed an invisible threshold, and he flinched, hands coming up to his sensitive ears at the sound. Worse still, he heard a phantom sound.
It was a slightly-bored, nasal voice.
"Welcome in!"
In a trick of the dim light, he swore that he saw the particles move, as if batted by a waving hand. Instinct took over again and his wings flared; a roar built at the back of his throat, ready to pounce at whatever foe waited up ahead.
As he pounced and perched on the counter, he realized there was nothing there. There had been, once. Someplace else. Joy, someplace else, transposed itself here from where it was buried inside of him. No, he was alone.
Just him and the motes...and the memories.
The more he recalled of his old life, the faster they came. Playing out in flickers and flashes, just like the staticked tv screens.
"Come on," his friend would laugh and run through the door. "Maybe we can sneak into the adults only section this time..."
Jeff, wasn't that his name? One of them was Jeff, at least.
There was a warmth to the name, a kindredness.
When had he gotten so cold?
"Microwave popcorn isn't as good as movie popcorn." He whirled and inspected a half-collapsed shelf with little red-and-white-striped buckets that touted MOVIE THEATER BUTTER in big bold letters.
Like magic, the starchy, enticing smell hit him. Then the taste. Rich and salty, butter was almost like the blood he'd been consuming. But if blood was sharp, butter was round. Coating the tongue, filling a void, soothing the soul.
He didn't have one of those anymore, did he?
What was he? Where was he? Who was he?
He took a step forward and something crinkled underfoot, breaking under his weight. He backed away and squinted, reaching down to grasp the item in his talons.
ASK ME.
Ask it? What could he ask it? He had all manner of questions and hadn't spoken them aloud for as long as he'd been here. Only one sound came out of him. The growling.
But talking was like growling, wasn't it? More purposeful, more precise. He hadn't been a precise thing in a while; he was big and clumsy and destructive and dangerous, just like the growl. But if he tried...if he made himself smaller and focused.
It began as a low grown, then he tried to shape it, moving his mouth and his tongue until it became something coherent.
ASK ME.
He repeated the words. "Ahssskkkk M-mmeeeee."
What would he ask?
He wracked his brain for something, tried grasping at the memories as they ran around him. The more he focused, the faster they came, flitting between displays, coming up to him, pouncing on him, then fluttering away.
Memories of Jeff and Gareth and Dave and Robin and Steve and Dustin and Wayne. They walked through this place. Family Video. They spoke to him, they told him things, they brought him back to life, if only for a moment.
ASK ME.
He tested the sounds to make sure they sounded right, before committing to the question.
And it was a very human question. Just like everything else that he was encountering in this place.
"Why?"
And he got a very human answer in return.
It took a while to get it, a very long while.
The thing he became wouldn't have had the patience for it, but whatever remnant of Eddie Munson that was still inside of him held strong until it came.
Silence.
Horrible, slicing, cutting silence.
It was just him and the motes.
It took a minute. A weighty, drawn-out minute.
But whatever will that he had mustered together to speak flickered and fizzled with the static and it vanished as he lashed out. Claws punishing everything around him, ungodly roar cracking the glass. He didn't even flinch at the sting as the shards rained down around him.
And the memories. The ones that had left him behind.
He would remember not return to Family Video again.
Pain Happened There.
Really missing that brief peak steddie era where season 4 wasn't over yet and Eddie might become a vampire
Kas!Eddie was so fun
i found this on pinterest and have no clue who the original artist is but it is the cutest thing i have ever seen

Kas!Eddie!!!!! Wooo!!!! (PSSST…I DO COMMISSIONS)
Everyone check out this absolutely adorable chibi Steddie I commissioned from the very talented @bitterbound !! 😍 I've never gotten a comm back so fast! I had this idea for a while, and they did such a great job of bringing it to life pretty much exactly how I imagined! 🥰
One of my fav headcanons is that Eddie Munson hates blood.
It’s there when he’s trying to change his bandages by himself but the sight of his own blood makes him want to hurl into the toilet so he always asks Steve to do it.
Eddie feels guilty as hell after he eats if he’s a kas/demobat/vampire/hybrid. He hates how good it tastes, how it looks if he accidentally looks down at whatever he’s just torn into and he see even a bubble of blood begin to pool at the fresh bite marks.
He hates seeing it on other people the most though.
If I'd written S5 of Stranger Things:
(I wrote this outline instead of sleeping please be gracious. It involves Kas Eddie if you're interested, Steddie, Byler, and a little bit of Time Fuckery to suit our purposes:)
-open on the same time jump, kids are at school, things seem the same but everyone is tense and worn down.
-clearly Max is a hole in the picture, like Lucas is always saving a space for her
-El is at school and her and Will are joined at the hip, someone makes a comment about the Wonder Twins and they just smile and bump fists showing off their friendship rings 😂
-Mike is kinda sad puppy following them around
-first episode there's a boys bathroom convo where Will is walking Mike through, for very obviously not the first time, El's totally valid reasoning for breaking up with him and why they're better as friends "when you really love someone, Mike, you shouldn't be afraid of saying it, and if you are, maybe you're just not ready. And she said she just wants to be friends. That should be enough. It has to be enough."
-the other boys walk him through his pity party but encourage him to move on, "Mike, maybe you should just love her like a best friend and let her go." "Yeah, set her free, if it's meant to be, she'll come back to you... *Will Death Stare* ...o-or there's plenty of fish in the sea"
-Hopper and Joyce are working on the cabin, they've added three bedrooms, one for Will and one for El, and one for Steve (his house got destroyed so he's a Hopper/Byers now) Joyce and Hop share a bedroom. And Nancy and Jonathan have converted the old barn *definitely always been there* to a tiny home with a loft bedroom.
-this is where the giant chaotic family breakfast scene happens, where we learn Steve and Robin had a sleepover, and Mike slept over in Will's room, and Hop is suspicious of it but El and Joyce get him to stop with a "dad you know we're just friends" and a stern look from Joyce, and Hop then tries to lecture Steve about setting a better example for the kids and not have his gf sleeping over to which Robin and Steve both choke and yell "we're just friends" sounds like a laugh from Steve and a disgusted adamant reassurance from Robin which Steve whips his head over at looking offended Robin raises a brow like really dude, and Steve shrugs and nods like yeah that's my bad I know what you mean and Will looks at Robin and Steve with suspicious eyes and El knows so she just smirks and Hop looks confused when Joyce kicks him under the table because she also knows and then Mike causes chaos again when he asks El "since we're just friends now can we have a sleepover?" Hop turns red and jumps up with both fists hitting the table like a gorilla and before he can even start letting out the steam Steve slaps the back of Mike's head and all the kids jump up to gather their school things. Steve saves Mike's life with a "stop trying to give him a heart attack, and get in the car"
-show the town as scarce, almost a ghost town, but trying to act normal. military zone downtown, town in quarantine, sure we'll keep it.
-But the military isn't going into the Upside Down, they don't have a lab there, they're just guarding Hawkins. Dr. Sam Owens apparently wasn't killed but taken by the military and when it was proven that it was actually Vecna that's the bad guy, not El, he was put in charge.
-El still had to hide from the military because the General guy still didn't trust she wasn't working with the bad guy, but at least Owens didn't have the military openly hunting her. And they had Owens telling them when they had a good opportunity to go into the Upside Down, so less risk on their "crawls".
-Murray is still smuggling stuff in for them
-They're still running the Squawk and doing the runs looking for Vecna, but there's been a suspicious lack of demi-dogs, -bats, -gorgons, the vines seem to have withered and are no longer animated, and they feel uneasy in the upside down like they're being watched, and the wall is still a thing, so they think Vecna has just pulled himself and all his minions behind the wall to protect themselves, and go into a healing cocoon.
-The wall encircles the part of the Upside Down that holds the cemetery and the woods around the church in actual hawkins so the kids end up spending a lot of time there in the Upside Up too
-Dustin always visits Eddie's grave and we get a scene where Steve goes to Dustin at the grave and they actually communicate and Steve tells him he's here for him and maybe Dustin still gets mad with a "you don't get it, you didn't know him" and walks away and Steve crouches down at the grave and sheds a tear while saying "maybe he's right, maybe I didn't know you like he did, but I was starting to, and I wish I had started sooner. I'm sorry."
-El is training to go into the Upside Down but Hopper is more supportive of her, and less scared, and eventually she argues that the demo-creatures are gone, Vecna seems to be hibernating, if they're gonna get through the wall, they need to see if her powers can make a dent, she can maybe open a gate.
-they set up a mission to give it a try, they sneak in, they've got the party Upside Up, breaking into the dilapidated abandoned church to set up in case of emergency and El had to open a gate to get them out quick they'd be nearby to help fight anything coming out behind them (Jason Carver's family ran it but he got bisected by the gate opening at Creel House and "disappeared" in the "earthquake" so his family fled Hawkins and abandoned the church)
-El opens a hole in the Wall by fighting the vines until they can make it through but it immediately closes behind them
-they definitely feel much more in danger on this side. The lightning is much more active here, clearly leaving small scorched craters where it hits. No sign of creatures yet, they make their way to the cemetery which seems to be directly center by their estimate. When they get there, they end up arguing, Hopper wants to go back, he thinks they're walking into a trap, thinks things are too easy. El wants to push on, they might actually find Vecna this time. They accidentally end up stirring up a nest of demi-dogs in the edge of the wood surrounding the cemetery, they'd only just approached from the church after breaking in and establishing contact with the party on the other side with a radio. The demi-dogs come out the woods and chase them, El and Hop get back into the church just in time, as a swarm of demobats seems to have been awakened from their perches in the three old grand mausoleums at the center of the cemetery.
-When they're in the church, El has to try and concentrate to open a gate, but she gets distracted when they realize there's something in the church with them hiding up in the rafters, it keeps hissing at them, and they can see it's red eyes in the dark, then it unfurls its giant wings and it's pointy ended prehensile tail and hop starts firing as it's darting around the shadows. El finally gets the gate open and they dive through, and they bowl over a few of the kids on the other side and Nancy has her shotgun trained on the gate as it starts to close behind them and just when everyone seems to be calming down a little, Nancy screams and shoots her gun at the gate, but it's too late, the winged creature makes it out behind them, but it's quick to escape by breaking through the big circle stained glass at the top of the chapel letting in the moonlight.
-Everyone runs out and they see the figure is way off in the sky headed away from the town, towards the lake. They decide they'll go hunting for it later since it doesn't seem to be actively attacking. No one can decide what it is. They thought maybe it looked more human than a demogorgon, but it had wings and clearly there were claws but Dustin is weirdly silent until Steve asks if he's okay, and Dustin picks up something off the ground outside the church amongst the broken glass and it's a black bandana. He shows it to Steve and both of them look wide eyed but Steve takes the bandana from Dustin and says, "it can't be" and Dustin says "Steve, why would the creature have this?"
-And then maybe robin butts in and scares them because they thought no one else noticed them off on their own, "did anyone else find it weird that the flying demogorgon was wearing pants?"
-everyone goes hunting in the woods by the lake next day to see if they can find it, their working theory is the creature was trying to get back to the Upside Down and could sense the gate under the lake, the only one not sealed off by giant metal plates by the military
-Steve Dustin and Robin and Will split off together to search over by Skull Rock. Dustin and Steve eventually break off from them.
-Robin and Will come out to each other and have a cute talk, they're besties now. Robin is Will's gay Yoda. When she asks him who his Tammy Thompson is and he blushingly says Mike Robin gags but then tells him it's a right of passage to fall for a straight, it's probably not gonna be the last time either as she looks off towards Nancy way ahead of them, and then Will sees what she's looking at and says "oh no" and then Robin tries to deny it but then Will tells her he's joking and he's not judging, "there's just something about the Wheeler's huh" and then they hug and Robin slips in a "yeah, but unfortunately you picked the worst one. at least he looks more like his mom than his dad, so you know he'll age like a Karen Wheeler instead of a Ted."
-Steve and Dustin head to Skull Rock and they find evidence that the creature has been there. Claw marks. And then they find something they never thought they'd see again. It's a ripped up, dirty piece of a hellfire club t shirt. Lots of dried, brown blood. Steve and Dustin both freak and debate telling everyone, they decide not to until they're sure. But Steve looks out across the lake to Reefer Rick's cabin.
-they end the search unsuccessful no one else saw signs of the creature, Dustin and Steve decide not to share their findings👀
-the whole Holly Wheeler seeing "Mr Whotsit" plot can still happen, Vecna has been hiding and healing and psychically stalking 12 year olds and he's "building a clock" so we can have the whole Max comes back scene and everything and the Karen and Ted almost die. Ted can actually die tho, lol. They leave Karen in the hospital to heal, she passed back out after her whole blowing up the dryer thing. She was not walking and threatening to come with them, she was almost dead. She is getting fresh stitches and sedation so she doesn't "wander out of bed and rip all her stitches again".
-Steve goes back to the lake by himself, he at least brings a machete with him. He goes to Reefer Rick's, sees there is clear evidence someone broke in, but he hears something out in the boat house. He goes in cautious but it doesn't matter, he gets picked up and slammed against the wall, much higher up than last time his feet are not touching the floor anymore, and he has the machete up to the creature's neck but hesitates as it seems the creature has stopped attacking and is staring. Then his face comes into the moonlight and steve drops the machete. "Eddie?!" He says desperately, scared but relieved. His eyes are shining red in the light like a wild animal and he has fangs clearly visible inside his slightly open mouth, he's pale and dirty and his hair looks like a caveman styled it but it's him. And as soon as he says his name Eddie looks confused, then angry and throws Steve down onto the ground and crouches over him growling, but Steve bares his throat and whimpers instead of fighting him off and that seems to stop Eddie. The creature sniffs Steve. His tongue even pokes out and it seems to taste the air like a snake. The creature hisses angrily, when Steve looks him in the eyes again, and Steve immediately closes his eyes tight. But then the hiss turns into a "...sssss...sss- sssteve?" Like the deepest most gravely voice you can imagine. Like a bear decided to try and speak. But had also been smoking for 40 years.
-Steve: "we gotta stop meeting like this" creature eddie knocks Steve out
-everyone freaks out when Robin shows up at the Hopper/Byers residence and says Steve didn't show to pick her up to go to the Squawk.
-there's no other dimension though, the Upside Down is not a bridge, it is the other dimension. So the whole weird melting lab and dark matter thing isn't gonna happen.
-Holly and her friends get taken but it's so Vecna can try and turn back the clock and reset Hawkins to the 1950s because his biggest regret was going in that cave and getting infected by the Mindflayer and if he hadn't then maybe he wouldnt have killed his family and maybe the government never would have opened Hawkins lab and had the child experiments trying to recreate his powers
-he's hiding in the catacombs of the mausoleums and that's where he built his weird child powered psychic clock to use their minds to "turn back time" and literally rewind to when he was a child so he can avoid letting the mindflayer infect him and gain a foothold in this world. He would just never go in the cave in the first place. Unfortunately for him they don't care about saving him in the past because that would mean killing all those kids and El maybe never even being born.
-because SURPRISE "LUKE I AM YOUR FATHER" bitch they find out Vecna is El's bio-dad because "Papa" wasn't getting the results he wanted so in secret he used One's "DNA" to impregnate Terry Ives at a women's clinic in town when she came in for a regular ob-gyn checkup and she's the only one who was able to carry a baby full term and the other kids were random babies but 011 was 001's by blood. That's why Brenner was so obsessed with her. And why Henry tried to help her escape with him. And why he tried to get her to join him, he said that he'd make sure she was born again, but this time without the terrible burden of the mindflayer in their blood, he'd make sure he was a good father to her. She doesn't fall for it and ends up being the one who kills him.
-but not before Steve finally told the others who the creature was and he let Steve live after knocking him out and running away from him at the boat house. That's where they found him, after everyone freaks out thinking he got snatched by the creature, Dustin came forward and said Steve had been acting weird when they found the shirt and claw marks at skull rock and Dustin realized that Steve hadn't just been staring off into space but at Reefer Rick's across the lake.
-everyone wants to hunt Creature Eddie down, but Steve convinces them to lure him out with things Eddie likes instead because it seems like Eddie's still in there just needs "woken up"
-so they set out beer and weed and peanut butter, balogna, and jelly sandwiches "you'll have to ask him what that's about, I just know he brought one for lunch every day" and played Metallica. Argyle contributed a pineapple pizza, "can't hurt", and steve allows with a "yeah looks like Freak bait to me" and Dustin hits him with a "Heyyyy!" And steve says, "I meant it with love" (Yes Argyle is still here. He's in a weird throuple situ with Nancy and Jonathan as their ace platonic third)
-Eddie absolutely was drawn in by the freak bait. Dustin tries to communicate with him, but he seems weirdly drawn to Steve. He hisses at everyone who gets too close, then when Steve gets close enough to look in his eyes, he says "Eddie, it's me, your friend" and then Eddie wraps his tail around Steve's waist, Nancy gets trigger happy and brings the shot gun up, Dustin freaks, Eddie gets spooked and grabs the pizza and beer in his feet claws and glomps onto steve and jumps into the sky and takes off with him.
-they end up back at the church. Steve talks Eddie into letting him go when they get there, he throws up and Eddie throws him a beer. Then Eddie starts talking, stilted like El in season 2, but somewhat normal, then Steve is like "if you're you again, why'd you freak out and kidnap me!" All annoyed, as he tries to fix his wind whipped hair. Eddie shrugs and says something like, "it's like my instincts are dialed up to 20 and when she raised her gun and yelled out your name, it was like she was trying to claim you or something and I couldn't help it, something in my head yelled that you were mine" Eddie growled but like a scary bass filled one that fills the church and he gets in Steve's space, sniffing his neck and grabbing him around the chest like he had when he snatched him. He flickers his tongue against Steve's neck and the fangs shimmer in the moon light. Instead of pulling away Steve freezes.
-when they find Steve, Eddie is somewhat normal again, but he can't stop glaring at Nancy and growling at her. Steve tried to explain to everyone that she had set off a "... protective instinct" in Eddie. 😂
-Eddie tells everyone that there's a voice in his head and he thinks it's the mindflayer but it's not as loud out here in Hawkins than it is in the Upside Down. He felt like a puppet, Vecna saved him "to be his 'Kas the Bloody Handed' which he apparently plucked out of head as he considered whether I would make a good candidate for a deathgate like Chrissy. And as I lay dying while he fled from you guys after you flambéd him, he found me barely breathing, took me into that church, and he cocooned me in those nasty vines and when I came out, I looked like this, and I had a permanent back seat to my own eyes and ears. It was like the mindflayer was the radio and vecna was giving all the orders, all master of puppets. But when I came through that gate behind El and Hop, it was like the connection got really weak and I was able to kind of take control again. It wasn't until Steve found me that I was able to think clearly again and remember everything that happened. I'm still not too clear on everything to be honest. I don't know how I learned to fly for instance. And this tail has a mind of its own." As he said that, the tail smacks steve's ass and steve jumps and puts both hands back there to protect it, glaring at Eddie's tail and the tail wilted as if it was saying sorry 😂
-Robin notices Will being all sus over Eddie flirting with Steve and Steve kinda sorta being sooo into it and Robin laughs and they have their lovely "just be you, it's who we all love" talk but with a side of "oh yeah, Steve's bi, that's a thing" and giving will some renewed hope that maybe Mike isn't completely straight 😂
-Will definitely has that scene from the show😎 the Wonder Twins stay twinning and slaying with their super powers.
-but unfortunately Will is too preoccupied slaying 3 demogorgons at the same time with his mind, he can't stop Vecna from taking control of Eddie again, who gets dragged back to the upside down to play guard dog for him.
-the General almost gets killed and a lot of the military do, and Owens tells them they need to work with El and Will, that's their only chance to defeat Vecna. The General goes a little crazy, tells the military to retreat but hold the quarantine perimeter and they will be calling in a nuclear strike if Eleven doesn't succeed in killing Vecna.
-Mike has a scene with El after that where El finally beats Mike over the head when he tries again to tell her he loves her, and she tells him she knows, but not like he loves Will. And he tries to tell her Will's just his best friend, and she says "Mike you love me like a best friend. You are in love with Will." And Mike gets all quiet and El leaves him with an "it's okay, don't be afraid to tell him"
-Will has his coming out scene but it's before the big battle they're all getting ready to go save the kids and stop Vecna in the catacombs under the mausoleum in the Upside Down, and it's actually just to Mike, and Mike is like, "damn, I wanted to say it first" and Will is like "you don't hate me for having a big gay crush on you and hiding it?" And Mike says "that would be a little hypocritical don't you think?" And kisses the shit out of him. Like he's trying to eat his face. And Will pushes him back and Mike says, "what?" All embarrassed and Will just laughs and kisses him more softly and gently and Mike kind of melts and Will just giggles and says, "poor El," and when Mike looks offended, "it's okay, practice makes perfect" and kisses him again 🫠 "Where'd you learn to kiss like that?" "California" and Will walks away swaying those hips all cocky and looking over his shoulder all sly.
-Robin and Steve catch them and tell them to hurry up, and "congrats" Robin hugs Will, and Steve pats Mike on the shoulder, but then squeezes tight enough Mike grimaces and goes "ah!" in pain, and Steve says, "I wasn't around to give you the big brother talk with El, but you should know I still have the nail bat, and if you hurt Will, I hurt you." Mike looks like he's going to say something snarky but then Jonathan comes out the dark hallway, ahead of them carrying said bat for Steve and he shakily says, "no problem, never gonna be a problem, I promise." And Steve just nods as Jonathan swings the bat up onto his shoulder and says, "good, good" and Mike shrieks when Argyle pops up behind his shoulder and whispers in his ear, "we'll be watching you"
-El and Will giggle and jump around and hug each other in the background of the next scene (to show that Will told her they kissed and she's happy for them) when they're all heading out from the Squawk to the church, where El plans to open a gate for them to all confront Vecna.
-when they all get to the cemetery/church, El uses the cemetery arch to make the gate. they walk through and everything seems eerily quiet until they approach the mausoleum and Kas Eddie is waiting for them on top like a gargoyle, he seems feral, they don't seem to be getting through to him. They're trying to make it into the catacombs so they break into teams and some of them are trying to distract Eddie and the cloud of demobats he seems to have under his control, and some of them make it through to head toward Vecna's weird child dungeon time machine.
-as time passes Shit Gets Weird, time seems to be moving backwards as they can see with the way everything around them seems to be slowly going in reverse, the wind, the vines seem to be retreating, everything around them seems to be getting slightly less dilapidated, Nancy notices her watch is ticking backwards but at what seems to be a normal second at a time. But that's starting to speed up.
-the underground crew makes it to Vecna's lair because they have Will and El working together to absolutely annihilate any demo-creatures in their path.
-Will and El fight Vecna, they eventually smash him into the ceiling so many times the cavern starts caving in. The adults have gotten the kids mostly awake and starting to head back to the tunnel entrance. Will and El escape with them when Vecna gets buried under the cave rubble.
-they make it topside and get everyone is headed toward the gate thinking it's over, Nancy notices that her watch date says it's now the summer of season 3 (1985?, about 3 years back). Everyone notices the kids are all looking a lot younger, like the last 3 years have turned back. Hopper doesn't have the scars from the Russian prison anymore. Max feels like she never spent a night in the hospital.
-Eddie. Eddie looks like himself, alive again. No claws and wings. Though his teeth are still suspiciously sharp and his tail is slightly smaller, a bit less pointy, but still very much has a mind of its own as it wraps around Steve and pulls him to his side as Eddie gains control of himself again.
-but then Vecna pops out of the ground of the cemetery where it had caved in some over where the cavern was.
-he proves he still has a hold over Eddie when his eyes glow red and he forces Eddie to grab the closest person next to him which was Steve and sink his fangs into his neck, not killing him but he retreats to stand in front of Vecna to act as a shield between the party's guns and a severely injured and pissed off Vecna. And then the suspiciously absent demo-dogs and demogorgons creep out of the edge of the woods and surround them.
-Steve begs Eddie, tells him he knows he's still in there. Knows he can hear him. And Eddie's mouth comes off of Steve just as Vecna is starting to gloat that they're all going to die but it's not going to matter because he'll turn back time and none of this will ever happen, he will save everyone by killing them all. And right when Vecna gives the signal to release the demo-dogs Eddie turns and sprints and vaults himself off of a headstone and uses Steve's machete to chop Vecna's head off and then the Wonder Twins step up and take all the demo-dogs and demogorgons out by lifting them into the air and then throwing them all down into the pit Vecna's body had just crumpled and rolled back into after his head.
-Hopper and Murray hit the pit with a couple homemade bombs and then they all run for the gate.
-they make it to the other side and the little kids seem to have gone from 12 to about 9 and are very confused and scared and have amnesia. The grownups get them all on the bus they'd brought with them. The grownups look somewhat the same just less haggard and unhealthy, Hopper noticeably less scarred. The party kids go from their large growth spurt 17 year old selves to about 14 again (think season 3). And the older teens go from about 21-22 back to 18(robin/Nancy/Jonathan)-19(Argyle/Steve/Eddie). As the teens and party stand around and hug each other exhausted, they hear a roaring coming from up the road.
-Billy speeds by in his Camaro, slams on his breaks and backs up. He steps out of his driver's side, but stays in the door and looks over the top of his car at the odd, exhausted, disheveled group of kids and teens and then over at the adults staring at him from the doorway of the bus full of children parked outside the church. "Hey SHITBIRD, I've been ALL OVER TOWN looking for you, and I find you on some weird CHURCH field trip?! Get in the FUCKING CAR! Neil says if we're late to dinner there's gonna be HELL to PAY, and YOU'RE BROKE, so I'M the one who will have to PAY UP FOR THE BOTH OF US. Your mom apparently wants us to go to the fair to see the fireworks as a 'family'."
-Everyone stares back and forth, mouths hanging open, Billy gets uncomfortable, maybe feeling like he said a lil too much about the abuse his dad throws his way so casually. Max hugs Lucas, hugs Will and El, and even hugs Steve and Eddie (because he saved their asses waking Eddie up in the nick of time, and of course Eddie for beheading Vecna), before waving goodbye to the shocked audience and sprinting to Billy's car and jumping in.
-Billy gives Steve and Eddie a weird look, they're holding hands, and Eddie looks deeply into Steve's eyes and tears start pouring as he gasps a quiet, hopeful "Chrissy!", and Billy gets in after her and takes off.
-they see Billy's car swerve a little and hear out his open windows, "GET THE HELL OFF ME, PSYCHO, YOU TRYING TO KILL US?! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!" as Max jumps across the seat and nearly chokes Billy out in a headlock of a hug.
