This is my kassica diary and y’all just have to deal with that now.

We broke a candle trying to put it in the ice cream, so KB’s husband had to dig us a little hole with a knife for my birthday candle that KB insisted I needed. Her husband also sang along when she sang happy birthday, which sounds like a small thing. But he hates singing. And he used to hate me. So it’s nice.

Life and friendships look different in your adult years, but I’m cheesing just as hard, if not harder, here than I ever have during past birthdays. I’m allowing myself the freedom to learn that different doesn’t always mean bad. Sometimes different is good, and sometimes it’s even better.

I have a lot of things to be thankful for this birthday eve, but right now I’m thanking God for KB and her husband, for the gift of forgiveness, for the gift of a friendship 15 years strong. I’m thankful for @fangirlinglike who never lets me down, and who made me the happiest birthday video I could ever ask for.

Twenty-eight is a scary age, but growing up isn’t so scary when you have friends by your side.
