Another last minute cosplay! I made it two weeks before the gathering because I couldn't think of what to wear and I'd been wanting to cosplay Sakura for quite a while.
At first I made the dress with a thick cotton, but the way the skirt gathered was way too heavy and bulky, so I re-did the bottom with white swim fabric. The gold is a slubbed satin. I had the worst time making bias tape trim out of it bc it frayed so much. Honestly, the chest plate is pretty clean hemming considering that!
The gems were my first time resin casting! I'm pretty satisfied with how they turned out. I didn't have nearly enough time or molds to make all of them though, only enough to go around the choker. I only attached them with glue. If I ever re-do it I'll probably get pre-made beads for the choker and re-cast the chest gems so they're clearer. I didn't have a more clever idea for her "wings" other than tying white tulle to my straps, but honestly I think it's beautiful in the windy pics!
Her feather is just a white turkey feather trimmed and painted with red acrylic. c:
