despite what it may seem we do not kill a majority of our parent characters. what we do is maximize the suffering per parent kill.

killing azura affected a whole family. killing takumi is par for the course. killing kaze brings some stakes into the valla arc because he died down there. you know. that sort of stuff.

and then of course the events surrounding jakob's death is why kana and dwyer even left home at all but like hey. maximizing the output of pain from parental death. corrin's missing for most of their adventure dwyer thinks she's also dead.
