Once again, it's the anniversary of "Kirby's Adventure," and once again, we're celebrating Meta Knight's birthday! Wow, and I can't believe it's the fourth of the year I've done this. Last year, the previous year, my first one
I tried to do a little reflective set for the two... not gonna lie I made myself dizzy while doing it... WORTH IT THOUGH!
I can't guarantee I'll do all of them, but I'll do the most I can (maybe repeat some for the... probably that headcanon cause I got a lot of them). Anyway gonna do my best with these~
The blog will be active for this month for posting, but the ask box will still be closed (this is due to the lore update due to the creation of King Fisher & the high spoilers nature of the blog... plus there is a well of ask I gotta comb through in the main blog... sorry again)
Thanks again to @azzie-tangerine for creating the event and the prompts <3~
"Are you sure we'll be friends when we meet, Gally?"
"The best of friends, mety!Nothing will change that!"
This is fanart for @kirbybecomesastarwarrior au based on their post on how meta knight and galacta used to be friends.
Also, let's just pretend that the gsa has some pretty vents and that's why gala can crawl through even with the wings.
I'm not good at drawing orbs, so I drew them in a gijinka form instead, I may have made some mistakes while drawing this, but I did my best, so I hope that you like it, kbasw!
In KBASW, Kirby's relationship with King Dedede is so integral to both of their stories. And those who aren't familiar it's a play on the opening them of "Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart." (Mao Mao, you did not deserve to get canceled...) I think this song is so fitting for Kirby and King Dedede: Dede & Marx's story arcs are tied for my favorite in KBASW.
And in general, I have such a deep love for the Kirby series. This goes out to the anime & the games. It's brought me so much joy and has led to some of my happiest memories.
Keep reading for spoilers and future Kirby
Kirby is meant to leave Dreamland so he can become a star warrior and pass the mantle to King Dedede. And honestly, the cappies do go on their little redemption arc. During the Dark Matter Saga with Dedede as well, Kirby does forgive them all, but it's just never really the same.
His desire to leave more comes from Kirby seeing more of the world; he wants more of it. With each adventure, it grows stronger, while Dedede starts to learn what it really means to be a hero from them. And Dedede is reminds him why he wanted to be a hero after being burned out after defeating Nightmare.
When Kirby does make the plans on leaving Dreamland he makes sure to pass the baton properly and gives King Dedede a medal. To show everyone and remind him(Dede) that he is the hero of Dreamland now.

I can't believe I got this out on time! Sorry, I've been missing in action for a while; work got me swamped. It's always the busiest time of year for me at work, and I always forget to draw a Birthday Kirby piece. It's a humble first piece, but it's a good start (I hope to make this a yearly thing like I do for MK's B-day piece, let's fingers crossed for next year).
I got the blueberry & the raspberry to suit up! (So yeah, I've been playing Cookie Run Kingdom...) I got inspired by some of the characters' alternate costumes. I really wanted to do celebratory outfits for Meta Knight & Galacta Knight (Gala was highly inspired by Hollyberry Cookie). Outfit Name
Meta Knight: Cosmic Crash Crown
Galacta Knight's: Temporal Radiance
Maskless Version
Believe it or not, these outfits aren't just for fun.... (foreshadowing)
Meta Knight & Galacta's Knight have a lot of symbolism. But that's for another day! But anyway, I've been really just focusing on getting back into the swing of things. Trying to do lore content, get back to writing, this is the start of this. Hope you all have a great day!
While I am putting most of my attention towards "The Mage Behind the Man...", I promise I'm still working on "The Knightmare's End." As proof, I'd like to give you a little tasty bit of lore (as well as a preview of the next chapter... to be more accurate, end of the next chapter.)
Where we last left the story (In the Heart of a Knight), Meta Knight had managed to get everyone in the cast to hate him and to have King Dedede fire him. Because that's what he wanted, why?
Well, that tea is spilt by none other than Knuckle Joe and Sirica (I'm still not used to drawing them, it's getting there). Basically they are the catalysts for the gang to go find Meta Knight... (how they got Jecra's journal gotta wait to find out.) The journal reveals MK's connection with Nightmare... and what it means now that he's defeated it. What will become of Meta Knight now?
I also wanted to take this chance to confirm that MetaJecra is indeed canonically in the KBASW AU. AND WHY... BECAUSE I'M ALL ABOUT THAT ANGST FUEL! Said this a while back Jecra is basically Meta's Patroclus, and went berserk after his death (similar to Achilles)
Anyways hope you enjoyed that bit of lore, have a great night.
It's the "Kirby's Adventure" Anniversary, which means it's the first game Meta Knight debuted in, meaning his birthday! (Love you)
I ended up doing something rather simple (plus, I didn't have time to do a big showpiece this year) compared to my two previous years (my first & my second). For this year, I wanted to showcase the KBASW's Meta Knight! Basically, this is his final armor set by the end of the story.
I remember when I first saw Meta Knight in the show ("Kirby Right Back At Ya"), as a kid, he was always my favorite. Every time it was a Meta Knight episode, it was always a banger. My first (and favorite) episode is "Crusade for the Blade." It's what got me into the show, the lore, and the games, and will always hold a special place in my heart.
Once again, Happy Birthday Meta Knight & I hope you guys enjoyed it, have a great day! <3
So remember that little angel character that would always help Kirby and Prince Fluff, in Kirby's Epic Yarn? Well, in the KBASW, she's Fluff's godmother and served as the royal adviser (or so the people of Patchland have been told). Her main connection lies with King Fisher; what they don't know is far more important than the people realize...
King Fisher/ AKA Fluff's father, The Creation of the Magic Yarn and Sock, Fluff's Mom & Prince Fluff the Grail Prince:
-I highly recommend you check these out before reading the rest of the comic lore, as it won't make any sense.

So, Angie's the Grail....
Angie could not be seen by anyone unworthy... and if she tried to reveal herself, there was a big chance that she may accidentally "blind, smite, or possibly vaporize" the poor soul... (it's based on the actual holy Grail lore & similar to how Galaxia shocks anyone whose unfit to wield the sword). The bar was set high; it took a thousand years until Fisher found her. (Falspar was a candidate too, but that's a story for another day...)
This all happened a few months after the deal with Yin-Yarn was made...
Fisher didn't treat her as an all-powerful sacred relic; they were friends. Even though the Grail blessed Fisher, it also cursed him to be immortal, and the years were starting to take their toll on him mentally. Meeting his wife (Queen Scarlett) remedied his sadness, but she knew that he'd tragically outlive her. (He would've eventually ended up like the canonical Fisher King...)
But Angie couldn't break her deal with Fisher; it'd also destroy the Magic Yarn and protection on Patchland. But if he made another deal with someone else, maybe... that's why she allowed Yin-Yarn in because not only would it give Fisher & Scarlett the child they've always wanted, but it would break King Fisher's immortality.
She knew that clown (Yin-Yarn) could never take over Patchland (not with the power of the grail infused there), but after Fisher was gone, that would mean she'd go back to being unseen, waiting for someone else to wield her... to talk to her, or even see her. It'd be another century if she were lucky.... However, Fisher knew what she had done for him... and he wasn't going to allow that to happen to his dearest friend.
King Fisher & Queen Scarlett were the only ones who knew Angie's real identity as the grail. They all had a few wonderful years before King Fisher eventually passed. After that, Angie had fully intended to have him be her last wielder, but much to her surprise and delight, Prince Fluff had shown potential to handle the magic of the grail.
They did have a plan if Yin-Yarn were ever to return… but King Fisher couldn't have predicted the disappearance of Queen Scarlett. Which left Angie to fend off Yin-Yarn with the limited power she had, without a wielder to channel her magic through.
The reason why Angie didn’t tell Fluff that she was the grail… was because he wasn’t ready. Fluff was on a loathing streak, blaming himself for the disappearance of his mom and the death of his dad. If she told him that now, to him it would be another reason why he was inadequate compared to his father! (Since Fluff wouldn't be able to see her grail form yet...) So she planned to tell him once his powers were fully mastered.
Hoping she could buy herself some time to get Patchland back under control, she rigged the sock Yin-Yarn stole, sending him over to Dreamland. Angie was just extremely lucky that the sock led him to where Kirby was.
Initially, Angie was going to intervene, but seeing how determined Prince Fluff was to save Patchland himself, she couldn't say no... Not only that, but this whole journey may be the very thing Fluff needed to get him out of his shell and get his confidence back.
After they saved Patchland... (she was so proud of him), she encouraged Prince Fluff to continue and go out into the world. Eventually, Fluff does find out what happened to his mom (with the help of Kirby & Falspar) he finally masters his power. This leads to this glorious moment where she can finally reveal her true identity!

The Sacred Relics (examples: Marx's flute, Sol Cleaver, Galaxia, & ect) play a very key role in the story, and down the line I realized over time that I needed a stand-in/voice for them. (Especially for Guinevere's story) And I noticed some plot-holes when rereading, Fisher's deal with Yin-Yarn, which I remedied with Angie's character: being the grail.
Each character in KBASW has a relationship with the relic they wield, with Angie, King Fisher & Fluff having the closest relationship. And of course, Sol Cleaver & Nonsurat have the worst relationship. (Can't wait to explore the others~)
Initially, I wrote King Fisher got in this depressive funk out of remorse for the man he became when he was on the council. But now I've rewritten it as... Fisher just wasn't mentally built for a life as an immortal... As time went on, the people he loved and cared for were starting to get older, but he was frozen in time. (It made more sense)
The very thing (the grail) that had saved him had damned him as well. Fisher never resented her since she saved him. Angie, however, held a lot of guilt, since she saw her wielder suffering on her account. And he was the first wielder who cared for her as a person. Which leads to Angie letting in Yin-Yarn into Patchland... and well, you all know the rest.
Angie is very wise beyond her years and gave Fisher an out when he needed it... Even if she'd lose her longest-standing wielder and closest friend. King Fisher actually had tried to make a plush vessel for Angie in the past. The extreme difficulty came from trying to create a body that would withstand her power. And to prevent her from accidentally "blinding, smiting, or vaporizing" somebody when they saw her.
That's why some of her powers were weakened a bit in her new form. But after many failed attempts, Angie insisted there was no need. However, once Scarlett's pregnancy with Fluff was stable... He knew that this deal was legit & it was happening, he knew he had to lock in.
Not gonna lie, I got a little emotional writing out King Fisher & Angie's backstory. It's basically two friends, immortal friends (with one who became human again), saying goodbye. Her love and loyalty all come from her friendship with King Fisher, and she was willing to stay there and protect his kingdom & son... even after he's gone.
~
And yet another minor background character I have given a whole backstory for... LMAO. But seriously, I really loved what I did with her character, and I had the chance to use King Fisher again. I hope you guys enjoyed them too. Have a great day, everyone.
