Still kind of in disbelief that I got lucky enough to become friends with someone as wildly talented — and as warm, witty, and kind — as @playpausephoto
No amount of thank-yous could ever really say how grateful I am for the photos she shared alongside almost each chapter of From Fire, Weight of a Name and Further.
Her breathtaking work didn’t just accompany the story — it actually shaped parts of it.
Some of the motifs and key scenes across the whole arc were directly inspired by what she captured.
But it wasn’t just the photos.
There were moments — across the whole story — when I questioned whether it was any good, or worth finishing at all. And she didn’t even know.
But something in the way she saw it, the things we talked about, the way she understood what mattered — it stayed with me.
And helped me keep going when I needed it most.
If this story keeps going, a part of that will be because of her too.
And the photos…
Every single chapter of From Fire was blessed to be introduced by something she saw, felt, and captured. That’s a kind of magic I’ll never take for granted.
So here they are. All of them.
