I like to headcanon that Jitka is actually a lot like Hans in many ways, whole reason why she hasn’t been married off yet. I think it would be fun if she was just as protective of her gown personal freedom that Hans is.

Or maybe even better, considering that Hanush specifically task Henry to drag Hans to the altar no matter what. And Hans despite resisting on the day of the wedding, actually does give in.

Only to wait at the altar and Jitka is the one who isn’t showing up, out of just the same reason Hans wouldn’t have shown up.

With the hold crowd gathered at waiting Hanush pulls Henry to the side and tasks him with finding her. (Bc ofc it always has to be Henry) - but ultimate Hans manages to sneak away and tag along with Henry.

As relieved as Hans is over the fact that he isn’t being wed afterall, Henry reminds him that there’s still a lady missing. At that point they both don’t know that Jitka ran off on her own terms, and suspect some bandits or similar.

Only to ultimately find her in the woods, near a hunting camp with her horse tied to a nearby tree. All while she’s cursing at her uncle and Hanush for even arranging the marriage, while angrily shooting arrow after arrow at a tree.

Anyway, the point I’m making is that I’m headcanon Jitka to actually be the first time Hans actually can relate to a female character. I like the idea of both Hans and Jitka finding someone in each other that they can see eye to eye with. Someone who they don’t have to explain their actions and behaviours too, but Simeon who instantly gets it and backs the other up.

But in contrast to what Henry is to Hans, where they act more like forces that balance each other out. Hans and Jitka would be more like forces that boost each other.

In context of Hansry, I personally see Hans and Jitka to have more like a besties queer platonic relationship. Like they’ll obviously have each others back till the end, but it’s not really a super romantic or sexual thing.

And talking about having each others back, just imagine Henry trying to argue with them. It’s like arguing with Hans², lmao.

Luckily tho I also headcanon little Heinrich to actually take more after Henry character wise considering Henry would 100% be task to train him. (And also … he’s uncle Henry obv)

Henry becomes a damn good cook. He starts out as a garbage can whose food preferences amount to "lots of it". But then he learns new ideas about taste from that one wine quest, and later when Janosh teaches him a few recipes something clicks. Isn't that just alchemy really? He already knows all about herbs and is no stranger to the concept of controlling heat and timings. After Suchdol he will never take food for granted again, so he really starts to pay attention to ingredients. Isn't this missing some vinegar? Maybe I should try...

Henry's goulash becomes legendary (never ask where he got the meat... or what the secret herb is). That boy can throw a FEAST

Bed sharing was the norm in medieval times! Someone like Henry would not get his own bed that often, if ever. He sleeps with Miller Peshek and Theresa in the family bed and it's normal.

I do hc that sharing with Hans is what allows their friendship to grow. It provides private time for talking on more equal ground without having to perform their roles.

Also Hans is more used to sleeping alone so has terrible bedmate manners

hc: Hans addresses personal prayers to the Virgin Mary because God feels like a judgemental father figure he's afraid to disappoint, and he already has at least 2 of those (Hanush and the memory of his actual father) on his conscience

I hc that after the events of kcd2, Henry goes back to visit herbalist Barnaby to tell him about Hans (if romanced). I think it would be sweet because Henry knows that Barnaby is a safe person to talk to and is someone older that can share in his excitement about it :')

My HC: Hans is afraid of geese, terribly so. As a child he pestered a goose out of boredom so much the goose fought back. Hans lost. Devil-birds they are now.
