watched Kpop Demon Hunters and ADORED it which i honestly wasn't expecting and idk if anyone's already pointed this out but im a fucking bird nerd so i wanted to mention some things!!! the bird in the movie is most likely a korean magpie (Pica serica) [aka the national bird of south korea] :D i did some looking into the symbolism and, in Korea, magpies/their cries are thought to herald good fortune and good news-- such as the unexpected arrival of a welcome guest. Additionally, in Korean folktales, they relate to positive karmic debt (such as a debt for something good being gladly repaid) and, in one tale, built a bridge to help star-crossed lovers reunite.
