this is true. i mean like, watership down was a thing that happened but a lot of people feel that it should not have happened so it's probably for the best. i didn't realize this when i was younger but it could never be a regular movie or on tv show and still be completely loyal to the original books because it would be based off of a children's book series and that would be the intended audience and there is too much violence than would be suited for that demographic. i think an official animated series online or something like that would be cool too but yea either way they would have to change a few things or not show some of the more violent deaths.
