“I feel part of the rhythm section… I just do what feels right at the time, and what fits with what everybody else is playing. It’s an endless task. But, you know, I got the riffs!”

Watch the Trailer for “Keith Richards: Under the Influence”
Sound Bites’d recognize that gravelly laugh anywhere.
It’s Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, 71, smoking cigarettes and waxing deep in the new documentary “Keith Richards: Under the Influence.”
Here’s Keef being introspective: “I know who I am but I realize people are thinking, ‘Keith Richards is smoking joint, bottle in his hands, cursing the fact that the liquor store’s closed.’”
Here’s Keef being reverential: “Johnny Cash? Muddy Waters? Rock 'n’ roll’s got nothing on those guys.”
And here he is being philosophical: “Life’s a funny thing. Nobody wants to get old, but they don’t want to die young either. … You’re not grown up until the day they put you six feet under. You’re never grown up.”
The film is available on Netflix Sept. 18, the same day Richard’s first solo album in 23 years, Crosseyed Heart, is released.
Meanwhile, the New York Daily News is reporting that Richards wants his daughters to snort his ashes when he dies.
“I’ll give them a straw,” he reportedly said.
