Player would in fact do it, if they haven't already. They're simultaneously the most normal and the most absurd at the same time. They're both for a reason.

Going back in time and meeting several ancestors of the present day people they know? Yup, that sounds like Player.
Nothing would surprise these guys anymore when it comes to Player. You first think Player's weird as hell, but then you just get used to it.
It's literally canon that Quincy, TJ, and Suzie all thought Player was weird at some point, primarily when they met them for the first time but they're like "Eh, that's just how they are" and moved on.
