Keepers of Secrets || Cora & Lucretia
Gone were the black spires jutting up into the northern skies, lined up in rows like the spine of a sleeping giant. Gone were the ravens circling in the air, screeching for their next meal. Gone were the black dresses, the feathers, and the eyes of her father. Here the faeries wore light, silky dresses and the buildings were white canvases on which splashes of color were presented. After Lucretia slipped past the guards in her lavender dress and deceptively Seelie look, she had to nearly hold her jaw to keep it from falling to the ground. It was all so beautiful and her heart wanted to sing out. She was free. Until her father noticed her absence, at least.
Lucretia had agreed to meet Carmela at Aurum Library at noon, but at the moment it was only an hour past sunrise. The faeries seemed friendly enough and she could always ask for directions, or simply find her way around. Her feet carried her to Anvali Castle, the white jewel that stood above the rest of the city. Just as she was admiring the rows of white flowers outside the palace gates, Lucretia felt a pair of sharply observant eyes upon her. Turning slowly, she noticed a seemingly innocent blonde girl. “Can I help you?”
